steam client continually opening even if set as service

Okay, so ive been trying everything under the sun over the course of several weeks in order to get VH running completely in the back ground.

I play remotely from a shield tv using steam, and if i return to my pc after the session - a virtual here icon is running in my tray. If i set it to run as a service, the service goes in, I can see it running in services.msc, and best i can tell, the app no longer appears in the tray until I restart my pc. At which point, the tray icon starts appearing again.

How do i get this to persist?

this is in the vdf in steam

"HasRunKey" "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Valve\\Steam\\Apps\\440520"
"process 1" "%INSTALLDIR%\\vhui64.exe"
"command 1" "-d -r out.txt"
"NoCleanUp" "1"
"Requirement_OS"

is one of those command switches responsible? or one i can add? huge annoyance.

thank you

No you cant use virtualhere as a service in steam. It wasnt configured to do that, it wont be possible

Well, this is my sadface <---

as long as i dont restart the pc its golden lol. Guess im gonna have to get used to the darned icon in my tray.

That or pitch the steam version, go with the windows version and buy an android license.

(or find a janky workaround to hide tray items, im sure one exists lol)

thanks for letting me know

funny part is, if i try to launch it from steam i get
"virtualhere client is currently running as a service, run:

C\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\VirtualHereforSteamLink\vhui64.exe -t "HELP"

seems its half configured at least lol
