Trouble using iLok on QNAP NAS

I'm currently demo-ing VirtualHere as a solution for mounting iLoks, as well as audio software licenses (Waves) that reside on USB flash drives. I am successfully able to access the flash drive with Waves licenses, however I'm unable to use the iLok (I understand I can only access one at a time while in trial mode). Here are the details of my current configuration:

NAS Server: QNAP TS-853BU-RP
Firmware: 4.3.4.0695
Client: OSX (Sierra 10.12.6)

I'm able to select my iLok within VH, and it appears to be in use. However, with the iLok in use via VH, both iLok License Manager and Pro Tools hang when opening, and are not functional. I attempted to remove and re-plug the iLok from my NAS, but with no success. Also tried starting iLok License Manager first, then accessing the iLok in VH, but even then the iLok does not show up as available.

Any thoughts on what may be causing this? Is there any other configuration specific to my setup that I need to do?

Many thanks,
David Herman

Thanks for your response Michael. I've updated to the latest package (manual install), however I'm still experiencing the same issue.

Two other things to note, in case they're helpful.
- Results are the same whether attaching directly to the QNAP's USB ports, or through a USB 2.0 hub.
- Since initially installing VH on my NAS, I'm no longer able to connect to the NAS through "Shared Devices" in the Finder sidebar. The NAS is still visible as a shared device (AFP), but connection times out. I am able to connect manually using "Connect to Server" and entering the IP Address, both AFP and SMB.

Any other thoughts, or info/logs I can send you to help troubleshoot?

OK that NAS is based upon x86_64, which is pretty good with usb support. So it must be the client side. OSX 10.12.6 is quite old so it may not have support for virtualhere and this particular iLok/elicenser combination. Im not sure it will work for you. You could try OSX 10.14 (as usb support is improved in later osx versions) otherwise i dont think it will work.

Bummer. As a Pro Tools user, I'm generally not so keen on upgrading to the latest OS when I have a stable rig, so it's a shame I won't be able to use VirtualHere. Curious though -- is there a previous build of VH that I could try, one that had known compatibility running in 10.12?

I think it works for most people, but i think it is the client side rather than the server part. OSX support is "as-is" until apple improves things.
