Virtual here not passing G920 wheel/pedals to PC

Hi all,

I have a G920 Logitech wheel and pedals and use steam link on my android phone to play remotely on my PC, whilst using a VR headset. This has worked almost flawlessly, with about 1 in 5 attempts to do the setup failing to work. The failures are either: Steam link on my phone won't show any usb devices connected, or steam link on my phone will show them connected but the PC won't. Usually a restart of my phone and or PC seemed to resolve this most of the time. However last night it took my about an hour and multiple reboots/restarts and checking settings to get it to work, and today I can't get it to work at all. Today's fault is that steam link app shows the G920 wheel/pedals connected, they are selected as shared, but when I then click on play it doesn't transfer the wheel/pedals to my pc, and they can't be seen in the logitech app or used in any game. So I have checked the permissions of the steam link and virtual here app on my phone, all permissions are granted. I have checked the virtual here app on my phone and it does state that the usb server is running. I have tried reboots of everything multiple times and it doesn't rectify the fault. I have tried opening the virtual here app on my phone then connecting the the usb to my phone, I have tried opening steam link then connecting it, I have tried connecting steam link to my pc then connecting the usb to my phone, no variations seem to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, this is a tough question but do you remember any updates to android or G-Hub or windows, in the last few days?

(I haven't changed anything on the VirtualHere android app for about a year, so i don't think its specifically related to VirtualHere.)

Thank you for the response, I

Thank you for the response, I haven't noticed any unfortunately. However I did connect a seperate new router which is wifi 6 and I started using specifically for my VR headset and steam link on my android phone. I disconnected that router and used my old connection again and it still wouldn't work. I did however just give the reverse client a go, put in the computer name, and it gave me a port number of 7573. When I checked on my router my port forwarding was set to 7574. I have adjusted that and it now works again, and I have tried it with my new router and although its a different network it has still worked through reverse client, and even better it now works without needing to use steam link on my phone. I just plug in the usb c on my phone, virtualhere loads up, shows the usb server as working and my pc recognises the usb. Very very pleased to cut out having to use steam link on my phone, was an added drain on the battery - now its very simple to use and worked perfectly - very very pleased :) Thank you

I did just notice though that

I did just notice though that in the process of trying to get this fixed, I deleted and re-installed virtualhere, and it now shows me as unlicensed, how do I get it linked to my previous purchase?

If you purchased it through steam, you need to run the steamlink app at the same time.

Thank you for confirming that, I'll run steam link 👍

For some reason it is still

For some reason it is still very hit and miss. Sometimes steam identifies the wheel/pedals, but doesn't pass it to windows. Sometimes steam says that no usb devices are connected. Sometimes steam does, but then a window on my pc states that the usb device isn't recognised. Sometimes it connects still without steam link, even though that is where I purchased it and my free trial without steam link has ended.

Do I have to connect through the steam link app, or is opening the app sufficient? I think that might be one way it is occasionally working. Is there another order/process or anything I can check so I can try to make this more consistent?

Thank you
