Ultimarc Ipac issue

Recently purchased an arcade controller from RecRoomMasters for arcade emulation. They use an Ultimarc Mini-pac controller.

Running from Nvidia Shield server to PC client.  The client sees the device no problem. However, when I use it, no inputs (either the trac ball which is a mouse or any of the buttons which are just keyboard strokes) are recognized.

Any idea why or how to troubleshoot?

Thanks!

When you use it via virtualhere on the pc client. Open Windows Device Manager , View from the Menu->By Connection. Find VirtualHere USB 3 eXtensible Host controller and see if its listed under there and if there is an exclamation mark near the device

Hey Michael,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I was out of town so just got to address this now....

So all the created devices show up with no exclamation points in Device Manger but still no input is recognized.

Here is a link to the screenshot showing the device manager: https://photos.app.goo.gl/4ieVpGqe5yyH3UTh7

Thanks!

It seems like the vJoy device is disabled? Is that meant to be disabled? Try right clicking on it and selecting Enable

I didn't even notice it was disabled.  I re-enabled... but still the same issue.  :-(

Do you see it in joy.cpl?

#7

No. The only thing that shows up in joy.cpl is the vjoy device.

But should it show up there? It is only a mouse and keyboard so I wouldn't expect to see it there...

OK im not sure sorry

No worries.  Weird one though.  I'm confident in saying that it looks like an incompatibility between VH and iPAC arcade controllers.  Granted. It is a bit of an edge case as most people don't stream emulators... but people should be aware of it none-the-less because some of us do and I opine the majority are VH owners because your util is, frankly, amazing and even works with my lightguns!

Fortunately, about an hour ago, I figured out how to get it to run natively on the Nvidia Shield without needing VH (hint for future searchers: set keyboardprovider and mousesprovider to dinput in your mame.ini).  Now everything works including the spinner and the trackball.

Thanks again for helping to troubleshoot. Your service as a dev is always top notch.

Thanks for the info, I'm glad you got it working anyway!
