Windows 10 HTPC/Game Server & Xbox One wireless Controller (wired)

Hi

Hoping someone can help me here.

I've got two Windows 10 Pro machines, one is the HTPC and the other is the game server. I'd like to use Virtual here to enable me to play Windows Store games via steam streaming.

I've setup the client/server installations on both machines, and plugging in the Xbox wireless controller via a USB cable to the HTPC (VH Server), the client software detects and allows me to claim the device.

The Controller shows up only with a yellow star and is called controller, however the properties show it as an MS device as expected. The issue that I have is that within the game server running the VH Client, there is no joypad installed, running joy.cpl shows nothing attached. This shows that there is an issue with the setup, but I'm not sure how to resolve it.

Any pointers?

Thanks,

Chris

Ok so the controller shows up under 'Devices > Xbox Peripherals > Xbox Controller' but it is not configurable and still doesn't want to work.

Press the button on the controller to wake it up

Hi Michael

Any particular button? I was in Forza 7 and pressing A did nothing, but I didn't try the xbox logo button... Should I be pressing that?
