VirtualHere detectable?

There is an USB product called Seneye which allows you to monitor things over USB.
Now the vendor updated their software so it isn't possible anymore to use VirtualHere to virtualise the USB. They did this because they are selling a WIFI->USB product and want to make additional sales on this expensive device.

How is it possible that they can prevent the use of VirtualHere? And can VirtualHere fix this so we can use it again for this purpose?

OK i can give it a try to see if i can figure out what they did.

1. What operating system are you using-> If you are not using win 10 please use win 10 as that driver is very close to microsofts standard usb driver
2. Are you talking about this product https://www.seneye.com/store/seneye-web-server-wifi.html ?

(If all workarounds fail you could likely just install virtualbox and a simple windows guest, run virtualhere client on the host, and pass through the remote usb device to the guest, and it would be impossible for sensys to know that the device is sent via virtualhere)

The manufacturer of this product https://www.seneye.com/devices/seneye-reef which is a USB marine aquarium sensor kit that allows you to measure a few water parameters and report them to their web site through an application that runs on your computer. But this requires you to have a computer right next to your fish tank or they offer a wifi web server that doesn't require a computer that costs $280usd.

After the most recent update the Seneye reef monitor no longer is visible through the virtual here client.

OK you can do this:

1. Download virtualbox
2. Run the virtualhere client on the host machine (the machine running virtualbox)
3. Use the senseye device via virtualhere so it appears in the host as connected
4. Install a windows guest into virtualbox
5. Inside that windows guest, run the senseye software
6. Pass through the senseye device using the virtualbox menu -> Devices -> USB
7. It should work ok.
