Wired connection set up.

Hi,
I'm running Win10 and the GL-MT300N-V2 device. Have been able to get the system working in wireless mode, but bought it to use over a wired system.

I've enabled LAN mode on the GL-MT300N-V2 device.
Connected the GL device to my router via an ethernet cable plugged into the LAN (not the WAN) port.
Started up the client software on a Win10PC connected to the router.
The Win10 client cannot find the GL device on the network

Any advice on how to get this to work?

OK that should work. The LAN port is the correct port. I think you might have to connect to your network router and see if its actually listed as connected (and get the ip). It should have a hostname of Cloudhub_xxxx in the your network router config menu.

Still isn't working using an ethernet connection

Am using a simple wired router that is not modifiable, no DHCP server etc. Both the compute and GH device are plugged into it.
The virtualhere client tries to connect; get this message repeated: 23:46:49 INFO :Could not connect to CloudHub_4577cd.local.:7575

I did a network scan between 192.168.0.0 and 192.168.128.255 and the GL device was not found.
Tried turning off the firewall, and also opening port 7575 and it the client still wasn't able to find the GL server on the wired network.

Is there any way to change the IP address of the GL device? Perhaps if it has a 192.168.1.xx address, then it will be found.

Any other thoughts why this may not be working?

P.PS. I have both the wired LAN connection and the wireless connection enabled on the GL server. Can you only use one at a time, i.e. wired or wireless?

I didn't want to test enabling only the wired connection because I can't currently connect to the GL server over a wired connection hence if I disable the wireless part, I will have no way of accessing the GL server at all.

Did you say there is no DHCP server on your network? If so you will need to specify the ip address for the gl-inet to use. In the configuration you will need to select "I want this Cloudhub to be part of an existing network" Select "Connect via ethernet" and select "Use the following ip address" and put in your details you want to use.

It doesnt matter if you lose contact with the gl-inet you can just press the reset button for 10 seconds and it will reboot to the default CloudHub_xxxx network again

Thanks again for your help. You're right, I'm connecting through a switch instead of a router. I tried specifying the Cloudhub as part of an existing network 192.168.1.x , gave it an IP address of 192.168.1.88 a submask of 255.255.255.0 and then specified the ip of the router attached to my dls line as the gateway. Probably doing something fundamentally wrong - still can't see the Cloudhub on the network using netscan or ping the 192.168.1.88 IP address from my computer. Any thoughts on how to set this up correctly?
