GL-MT300NV2 image cloudhub-gl-mt300nv2-upgrade.bin, downloaded 13DEC2018, does not appear to work properly

I attempted to install the cloudhub-gl-mt300nv2-upgrade.bin image on a new GL-MT300N-V2 router. The image appears to be uploaded, and the router resets. It is possible to connect to it using the cloudhub66 pw, and it appears at 192.168.34.1. It only occasionally responds to pings ( 1 in 50 or less) and the VirtualHere client cannot connect to it, either using Bonjour or with a manually entered IP. Client in running on Win 7 Pro SP1.

I recovered the MT-300NV2 using the uboot recovery procedure, and verified that the router works properly with a clean OpenWRT image. I then re-installed the cloudhub-gl-mt300nv2-upgrade.bin image and observed the same anomalous behavior.

Any help would be appreciated.

OK looks like there is a bug in the recent mediatek kernel driver in the gl-inet github tree. So i recompiled with the trunk openwrt and the wireless is much more stable.

However there is bug in the firmware update in cloudhub 3.8.0 so you need to download the new virtualhere client to update the cloudhub firmware to 3.8.1

1. Download client 4.6.3 from here https://www.virtualhere.com/usb_client_software
2. Download cloudhub 3.8.1 from here https://www.virtualhere.com/hardware
3. Use client 4.6.3 to update the cloudhub firmware via the GUI

Hi there,

I have had the same issue as the original poster. My first attempt was done with a Mac, which worked but it wasn't the computer I was setting it up for. I wanted a Windows 10 machine to use the hub.

When getting it to the Windows computer it could see the WiFi SSID, connect to the WiFi, but never list the CloudHub on VirtualHere client.

I used uboot and debricked my GL-MT300NV2, got it working with it's original firmware. Then I successfully installed CloudHub Firmware Image Version 3.8.1 a second time, the Windows computer can connect onto it via WiFi but the CloudHub does not list on the VirtualHere Client (Version 4.6.4 ). Just like the first attempt.

Every 15 seconds VH clients lists two 'Connecting to USB hub...' but then drops both. In the short time that appears I can right click the properties. One is listed as 'cloudhub_xxxxxx:7575 (:7575)' the other is 'cloudhub_xxxxxx.local.:7575 (:7575)'.

The system message report this:
11:53:13 INFO :Error 'No such host is known. ' getaddrinfo failed for cloudhub_465075:7575
11:53:13 INFO :Error 'No such host is known. ' getaddrinfo failed for CloudHub_462075.local.:7575

All up to date (04/DEC/2019) software/firmware had been downloaded and installed yesterday.

Any suggestions?

Uninstall bonjour and let the client install it again

Brilliant, thanks Michael, that did the job.
