disables bluetooth

I dont see the server redirecting the device at all? What is your server? Windows or is the the TPCast?

OK im still not sure what you are doing, but basically i dont think your setup will work for you. I asked you if you are running windows or the tpcast as the server and you say "this is the server" and i dont think windows is your server, so anyway i cant really help

So i think you are mixing up things still.

Where is your bluetooth dongle plugged in?

Basically for bluetooth to work via USB you plug the Bluetooth Dongle into a virtualhere server somewhere, then on the remote client you use the bluetooth dongle. That then (should) disable the on-board bluetooth on the client so that the dongle bluetooth can be used. This is because windows only supports one bluetooth radio at a time. If it doesnt do this then the dongle will say error 10 "Cannot start" and you should manually disable the onboard bluetooth yourself on your client windows pc.

When you stop using bluetooth on the client, it should rebind the old in-built bluetooth or you might have to enable your onboard bluetooth in the client manually.

My Bluetooth on my laptop becomes disabled as soon as I connect. I am not using a dongle, and am not trying to redirect a Bluetooth device. Which I believe is the same issue. To get it to work again I have to restart my computer. It's kind of annoying and makes it difficult to use this product.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

My laptop has built-in Bluetooth. If I listen to music before turn on the VH Server 4.1.0, I would get disconnected when I pause the music and losing the Bluetooth function entirely. But on this build, I am to pause and continue music as normal and the Bluetooth function is still available afterward, paring, disconnect, reconnect other Bluetooth devices

I just redownload from this link and the version is upgrade to 4.1.0.
I wonder if we could have this build branch available in the Windows server page instead of in the forum post, as seem link you have this branch build with the master?

I have changed the normal Windows Server page to provide the download link for vhusbdwindk now. So you dont need to visit this forum posting to update. Ive improved the windows server in 4.1.1 so that it better handles sleeping devices and automatically updates certain drivers

Hi,

the standard server disables bluetooth (Qualcomm Atheros) for me too. ELAD TM-2 USB controller works well.

The vhusbdwindk64.exe client works with bluetooth ok, but the ELAD is 'killed' every time when starting to use it by application (SDRuno).

Both ends are Win10 64-bit. I tried with two different servers (Asus/HP), with same results.

Remember you cannot have two bluetooth radios active in windows. So if you are passing through a bluetooth adapter via virtualhere then it will disable any on-board bluetooth

That is not the case. I'd only like to use BT at server end locally. Just one, local BT-radio.

And pass just the ELAD controller thing over. To the client. Well, to control a radio, but not a BT-radio. I use MS-RDP for UI remote control.

OK i suggest using a pi or something like that as the server instead. Im not sure why you bluetooth is being disabled

<p>Starting the connection by using vhusbdwin64 or vhusbdwindk64 server on a HP Win10home laptop (with onboard Realtek RTL8723DE BT adapter) - cuts out BT link between my (nearby) samsung-android cellphone and sony SBS-XB12 BT speaker.<br />
Two totally separate devices - _not_ in any connection with the HP. The samsung just 'loose' the pairing with sony. It can be manually reformed, and stays up well after that.

Thanks for the more detailed info jjukka that is very interesting. When virtualhere starts it asks Windows what usb devices are connected. Sometimes devices are asleep and will not respond so virtualhere asks them to wake up, i label it "tickle" in the server log.

Can you see anything about "Tickled device ... when getting prod/vend strings" It will show a code where the ... is. Is that code the same code as your bluetooth dongle in the log? Like in the logs above.

Sometimes devices still ignore this change but it worth a try. If the device is not asleep virtualhere wont need to tickle it and that may avoid bluetooth sending out some initializing signals or something which is causing the other devices to drop. (I dont understand how it could cause other devices to drop but maybe its some radio thing which occurs when the bluetooth adapter is woken up and maybe sends some sort of polling packet to nearby devices)

<p>I can see the Elad device at the client end, but can't get it into "In use" status.

<p>So, the 'public' server version works nicely with Elad+SDRuno, but disables BT. Two special versions don't work with the Elad thing.</p>

OK thats disappointing, I just think you will have to use some other non-windows machine as the server. E.g a pi4, because windows keeps powering down some devices and disrupting things.
