USB device to client communication

Hello,

I´ve got one machine running the server, to this machine is connected cutting plotter via USB port, other machine in LAN runs the client and can see the host and all its usb devices, I can connect to the shared USB plotter and then there starts automatic installation of the VirtualHere usb drivers followed by installation of the USB plotter.

The plotter provides a feature to read size of sheet ready for cutting so the work page is set in the cutting software to the proper size. This feature works fine at the server machine, but does not work at the client. When I try to read the size of sheet error message pops up. I managed to make it work once, by a chance, but then it simply quit working and I was never able to make it work again. The plotter is responsive to data sent to it, so after manual setup of the sheet size, I can use it and print/cut from the client machine, but cannot make the client machine read from the plotter. At the hub properties, there are enabled both both-directional connections.

I tried to reinstall USB drivers at the client machine, the VH client, the server, plotter drivers, everything, but could not make it work again. The issue persists now even when I reinstall everything.

Another issue is, that once the client is connected to the server, the server machine loses connection to the plotter and is unable to read the sheet size, so only one machine can be connected to the USB port, and the client has to be manually disconnected to make the port work properly for the host machine. This is a minor issue, the major one is the inability to read from the USB device.

Any help would be much appreciated.

What is your server and client operating system?
