USB Server on Intel Mac with Big Sur

Hi,

I have an iMac with 3,5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 running Big Sur. I have installed USB server with no problems. Allowed the extension in Security and Privacy. Even disabled SIP. No joy. I don't see the control panel of the server or anything. Thanks

I tested again on my macbook air and it seems to run ok. Could you do this

1. Check for big sur updates by clicking on the apple icon About this Mac -> Software Updates
2. If/when that is updated to the latest can you run the virtualhere server again. The virtualhere server window should appear and an icon at the top right. If that doesnt happen can you post here the vhusbd_log.txt file which is in your home directory as that has the server log in it.

It works now. Thank you. However SIP has to be disabled. I hope it will be resolved soon.

#4

Yeah its weird, i dont need to disable SIP and it works

I checked a couple of more times. it doesn't start with SIP enabled. only when it is disabled. here is log

Ive logged this with apple

One more question. I connect my Mac where the USB server is located either via wifi or sometimes over LAN. I use dyndns as I don't have fixed IP on the computer where the server is located. I tried to open different ports in the router for both options, i.e. 7575 and 7576. In "Specify hubs" I put
myname.dyndns.org:7575
myname.dyndns.org:7577
however the client only seems to work with port 7575. so each time I have to change settings in the router. What do I do wrong? Thanks

I think you have setup your port forwarding incorrectly as it should work fine. You cant port forward using 7574 as that will confuse the client because it will think its connecting via SSL. But any other ports should be ok. Also you cant change the TCPPort of the server unless you have purchased the server
