Can't get VirtualHere working with Nvidia Shield

Hello. Using Xbox One controller on the Nvidia Shield there is no vibration/rumble so I tried VirtualHere as that supposedly enables vibration but I can't get it to work.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I downloaded VirtualHere USB Server for Windows 10-64bit, I downloaded the client on my PC. I downloaded the VirtualHere on my Nvidia Shield.
I plugged the provided Xbox dongle into the Shield but no popup showed anywhere.

On PC when I check the VH Client I can see that there is Android Hub and below it XBOX ACC, I right click it and enable and it shows (in use by you). So it should be working but I don't get any vibration at all. Any suggestions?

OK i confirmed that the xbox wireless dongle is working fine with the shield virtualhere and android tv. I did this

0. Firstly delete the virtualhere server for windows, you dont need that
1. Make sure you have the latest virtualhere server app from the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.virtualhere.androidse… installed on your sheild 4.3.2 (1053) or later
2. Download the xbox accessories app from the microsoft store https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/p/xbox-accessories/9nblggh30xj3#activet…
3. Plug the controller or wireless dongle directly into the pc and run the xbox accessories app on your pc and see if there is a firmware update. UPdate that if there is
4. Plug the xbox wireless dongle into the sheild and start the virtualhere app. If it asks for permission to use the dongle say yes
5. Run the virtualhere client on your pc (or cloud machine) and then they should automatically find each other.
6. Right click on the XBOX ACC in the virtualhere client and select Use (Or Auto-Use device if you want it to be automatically used)
7. Press the power button on your controller if it is off. It should auto pair with the dongle sent via virtualhere

Let me know if you do those steps and it still doesnt work

Hello, thank you for the reply. I did everything you listed and the VirtualHere is working, I get rumble support now, so thank you :)

I think I know the answer but I want to be sure. When my gamepad is connected through VirtualHere I can't use the pad to control the Shield menus, right? It will work only in games?

That is right. When we set Virtualhere to use device it switches off on server device, though Shield Controller is an exception to that. We need to switch bluetooth and wifi off on Shield to use Shield Controller through Virtualhere so it stops sending input to Shield TV at same time as to client device through Virtualhere. So having a second wired controller is needed in that scenario.

The additional bonus of using Virtualhere is it stops controllers Guide/Xbox button opening google voice search on Shield TV. hehe
