connecting diskdrive to mycloud-ex2-ultra via usb

I'm trying to connect an extra diskdrive to mycloud-ex2-ultra via usb. The drive is a WD, 5TB capacity. I can approach this drive fine via the WS dashboard, but when I try to connect via VirtualHere it says "This is a USB 3.x drive, connect it to a USB 2.0 port" - which is nonsense of course, as the Ex2 Ultra only does have USB 3.x ports.
Any suggestions?
Kind regards from Germany

You need to use a recent MacOS, 10.15 at least or use a usb2 hub inbetween

Thx - this is an old MacPro 3.1 Early 2008, running System 10.13.6, which is the latest version working. I use this machine as a server for approx. 60TB of data in my personal network (movies, music production..) So USB 2 really doesn't make any sense considering the amount of data that are to be transported. USB 2 is not even fast enough to stream SD-Movies to my TV screen.... Pity for th money I spent on this app... The guys from VirtualHere should really make it clear that this app needs at least 10.15 to run properly - I mean it is starting fine on 10.13, so I expected it to do what it is supposed to...
Thank you anyway!

That is why there is a 10 day trial. Plenty of time to test
