Double input & microphone passthrough

Question 1

I am looking at buying an NVIDIA Shield TV Pro (NSTV) to use for in-house Moonlight streaming. I want to connect my Xbox controller to my PC through VirtualHere on the NSTV to get rumble functionality. However, I still want to use my controller to navigate through the NSTV interface (does VirtualHere 'hijack' the controller?). If I launch Moonlight on the NSTV and use VirtualHere, will both Moonlight and NSTV pass my controller through to my PC? If yes, that would be problematic because that means I'd get a double input issue. I hope someone has experience with this.

Question 2

If I want to connect my headset to my PC through the NSTV, is it possible to only pass my microphone through? Because when I launch Moonlight, it will automatically mute the speakers on my PC and only play audio on the NSTV. So I would like my headset audio to remain connected to NSTV but have only my microphone go through to my PC because Moonlight doesn't support microphone streaming.

#2

  1. Yes virtualhere hijacks the controller so its only available either remotely or locally, not both together
  2. Depends, if the headset appears as one device in the virtualhere client then it will pass through both the microphone and headphones together. If it shows two separate devices in the virtualhere client then you can just pass one through
