Flickering image 4K USB cam over Ethernet on Raspberry Pi 5

Hello

I am experiencing issues with flickering video.

Raspberry Pi 5 Server Firmware Image Version 4.7.8 Ethernet Gigabit Cat 6

USB Camera 4k 8M 120 Degree

I am using 2 Laser Engravers

Neje Max 4 E80 with USB Camera 4k 8M 120 Degree

and an ACMER 2in1 built-in camera

Acmer works without any problems with the same configuration.

Run the camera through LightBurn 1.7.08

How do I increase the USBFS memory on the Raspberry Pi for the USB Camera 4k 8M 120 Degrees?

Best regards, Nils Petter

I think you might be pushing the limits of the pi5 with that camera. Its streaming too much data.  Can you turn down the resolution. Do you have a URL link to that camera model on the internet?

Hello

Thank you for your quick response.

The camera is an AliExpress purchase, model SU200.

I have tried lowering the resolution via Windows settings. ( Windows 11 Pro 26100.4202)

This has no effect. I checked the server latency. It fluctuates between 260 and 430.

Can the camera settings be changed via Raspberry Pi?

Or is this a lost cause?

Kind regards

Nils Petter

Server latency is quite bad. I would expect e.g < 20ms consistently if everything is connected via ethernet.

I have tested running a PC with a 1 m Cat-6 cable and a 10 m Cat-6 cable to a Raspberry Pi with the same result.
The camera works when connected directly to the computer.

When I run the ACMER laser camera, it works. Latency between 100 ms and 250 ms.

I suggest a faster server to bring the latency down.
