Pi4 GUI client won't start

New VirtualHere user with licensed server running on Ubuntu 24.04.

Successfully used the VH client on a Win11 VM and a Debian Trixie VM but not a pi4 running raspbian bullseye.  When I attempt to start it

sudo ./vhuitarm64 -l /tmp/vhgui.log

It will return to the $ prompt in about 1 to 2 seconds, log below.

I can however successfully use the console client no problem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Glenn

/tmp/vhgui.log is:

I tested this just now and works for me:

  • Installed the latest Raspberry OS 64-bit Debian Trixie on my Pi4
  • Went to the display and keyboard for my pi4 and opened a Terminal and typed:

    wget https://www.virtualhere.com/sites/default/files/usbclient/vhuitarm64

    chmod +x ./vhuitarm64

    sudo ./vhuitarm64

and it shows the normal client GUI screen as expected. I righted click on a USB disk in the virtualhere client and selected Use and a few seconds later the USB disk appears

    My suggestions:

  • Make sure you are running a recent version of RasberryOS
  • Make sure you are not already running the command line client in the background.

Thanks Michael

I did the same as in your test except for the older Raspbian Bullseye release.  Unfortunately the pi4 is running the image RigPi4 which is only available with  Raspbian Bullseye. See https://rigpi.net

The good part is the console VH client seems to work fine so that will still allow me to use VH!

Happy New Year
