XBox controller (Mac) to Win11

Hi everyone,

My aim is to connect an Xbox controller to my Mac (OS 26.3.1) and have it broadcast to a remote Windows 11 machine, however I'm having some trouble with this.

The Mac has the server (4.8.6) installed, and the windows machine has the client (5.9.7) installed. The controller is connected via a USB-C cable, and the client is successfully recognising it. However an online Gamepad tester is showing that no joystick/button inputs are being recognised. I've heard a few things about the Xbox wireless adapter on this forum and some buggy behaviour with direct usb connections, however Microsoft has explicitly said that the adapter does not work on Mac.

Would this adapter magically solve all my problems, or is there a deeper rooted issue here?

Thank you!

The xbox controller is problematic on all platforms. I recommend using the xbox wireless dongle via virtualhere instead then sync to that.
