Hi,
I'm trying to use a Revopoint Metro 3D scanner through VirtualHere. The scanner identifies as:
Manufacturer: Chishine3d
Product: REVO_PRODUCT
VID:PID: 2207:110c
Connection: USB SuperSpeed
My VirtualHere Server is running on a Windows laptop:
VirtualHere USB Server: 4.8.8
Build: Jul 29 2026, 11:36:14
Server mode shown in log: Windows USB mode
The VirtualHere Client is running on a separate Windows desktop over the LAN.
VirtualHere detects the scanner normally, but when I select Use this device, the server fails with:
ERROR :bindWinUSBToDevice SetupEnumDriverInfo failed, No more data is available. (0x00000103)
ERROR :Error binding device [2207:110c] to connection, BIND_ERROR
INFO :Unmanaging device [2207:110c]
INFO :Found Super speed device [2207:110c] "Chishine3d, REVO_PRODUCT"
The failure is repeatable every time.
I tested another USB device (Sony DualSense/Xbox controller) through the same VirtualHere server/client setup, and it successfully binds and works. So the server/client connection and general USB forwarding appear to be working.
Windows sees the REVO parent as a USB Composite Device using Microsoft's USB composite driver. The scanner has at least two UVC camera interfaces:
MI_00 – DepthCam
USB\VID_2207&PID_110C&MI_00
MI_02 – USB Video Device
USB\VID_2207&PID_110C&MI_02
Both use Microsoft's USB video stack (usbvideo.sys, ksthunk.sys, etc.).
I also tested VirtualHere with a clean/default configuration after removing some previously suggested custom config entries. The result was identical.
I tried the onReset.$VENDOR_ID$.$PRODUCT_ID$= custom event-handler workaround as well, but the initial binding still fails at bindWinUSBToDevice / SetupEnumDriverInfo with error 0x103.
I have not replaced the scanner's UVC drivers with WinUSB/Zadig because I don't want to break its normal operation.
Is this a known limitation/issue with the Windows VirtualHere Server and this type of composite SuperSpeed/UVC device?
Is there a different binding method/configuration I should use for 2207:110c, or is there a test/beta server build I could try?
I can provide a complete server log or additional USB/device information if needed.
Thanks.
.
I dont think its compatible, i remember the intel realsense also had issues.
