Licence not getting applied when launching Server as launch daemon

Hi,

We brought a Licence and had setup it on a Mac Mini. There are times where the machine requires a restart so we need to Configure Virtual here Server settings as a daemon.

Using the following Command.

sudo /Applications/VirtualHereServerUniversal.app/Contents/MacOS/vhusbdosx -b

service is registered without error but on the client while connecting to USB we see a error message

"When Running the Client as service you can only connect to Purchased Servers"

We have tried re-adding the licence back but not getting set this is the error in vhusbd.logfile

grep -i "licensed\|using configuration" /var/log/vhusbd.log | tail -5

Thu Oct 15 10:05:35 2026 LOG_INFO    Server licensed to=unlicensed max_devices=1

Thu Oct 15 10:38:33 2026 LOG_INFO    Using configuration /Library/vhusbd.ini

Thu Oct 15 10:38:33 2026 LOG_INFO    Server licensed to=unlicensed max_devices=1

Issue is seen only when registering as a daemon works fine when we are using it Via GUI.

Could you please let us know what we are missing here?

Its will store the license key in /Library/vhusbd.ini  . Does it show it in there?

OK run the virtualhere server in daemon mode and run the virtualhere client elsewhere. Then when you see the Virtualhere MacOS Server listed in the client, right click USB Servers->License...->Copy to clipboard and paste into an email to me mail [at] virtualhere.com (mail[at]virtualhere[dot]com) and ill check...
