i'm using it with 3G usb sticks, it works fine with huawei, ZTE, D-Link etc.<br />
But with the Lonsai LS100 it's not mounting correctly (There is no CD/DVD device of the usb stick) and the modem is not working.

Some older 3G modems need to run "usb_modeswitch" when they are enumerated, so you need to setup that to occur when the device is plugged in. Google search for "usb_modeswitch" and it shows quite a few results. Im not sure of the server you are using but if its a pi or something where you have direct access to udev etc then it should work with some tweaking using that utility. If its a NAS then its probably not going to work as those setups generally dont support udev
