VirtualHere failes to see SteamLink *most of the time

Running VirtualHere on Windows7. I have Steam Link build 513. At first, VirtualHere was unable to see the steam link, even when manually assigned via "specify hubs". Eventually, without warning, VirtualHere was able to see the SteamLink (without using specifiy hubs) and this ability remained for several hours. After that, it stopped again and hasn't resumed since.

-I begin streaming before checking if steam link can be seen in VirtualHere.
-No changes have been made to the system during the time I have been using VirtualHere.
-I have tried using both steam normal and beta but it makes no difference.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to resolve this issue?

Im not familiar with how valve has setup the link with virutalhere but my suggestion is to restore the firmware 513 from scratch and then switch to the beta. That way everything will be restored to the default and virtualhere is auto-enabled on the steam link beta for the time being.

Just to chime in, I am having the same problem. Power cycling the Link by removing the power cable for 30 seconds seems to fix the problem temporarily. This is inconvenient, however, as it requires you to do this everytime you want to start streaming.

I finally got my steamlink yesterday so i can see what they setup. I upgraded to beta 513 and ran the virtualhere client and i can see the "Steam Link" appear in the list of servers automatically. If you dont see it appear you can always just put in the steamlink ip address directly into the client by right clicking USB Hubs->Specify Hubs -> Add

The ip address for my steam link is in there l did not add it, but it's in manual server area) but devices that worked 3 days ago are no longer showing up on the "tree" NOTHING is showing up anymore. I have no idea what to even try... I have restarted every piece of electronics in the circle of this connection, but nothing g seems to get virtual here to even appear to be doing anything.

Ok, basically you have to buy virtualhere and have at least build 518 of the steamlink firmware. Then you just plug what you want into the steamlink then go to Settings -> VirtualHere on the steamlink and select the devices you want to use and then click start streaming. Now everything is automatic so you dont need to put in any ip address. This post was when virtualhere was still in beta.
