I just installed a new GL-inet AR300 router running VirtualHere Server 4.8.0 with the new VirtualHere USB hub connected to it.
I can successfully power cycle each port on the hub which is excellent. However, any time the router is power cycled, each port on the hub must be set to power on by default.
The entire purpose of purchasing this hub is I need to leave it connected to a ham radio repeater via a USB/serial adapter at a remote site.
Any time the repeater sees RTS/CTS come across the serial line, it goes into maintenance mode during which point nobody can use the repeater. This is very bad for us and was not what we anticipated when purchasing the solution.
We expected that if the port was set to "power off", that state would be maintained until we made a change.
Thankfully I have the GLinet router connected to a managed power supply and I can kill power to the router entirely, but this is less than desirable behavior.
Is there any way to modify the behavior so the default power state for each port on the hub is set to "power off"?

Use one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZUE6PVE and plug the secondary plug into a permanent usb power supply.
Im sorry - can you elaborate…
Im sorry - can you elaborate more? Are you suggesting putting this inline between the VH Hub and the router so the hub doesn’t lose power as the solution? Or am I missing something?
.
Yes correct. Plug the USB upstream port from the hub into the USB female port on the plug. Plug the USB 3 male plug in the ycable into the GL-INet router and plug the secondary USB plug into a permanent usb power supply. That way the hub never loses power.
