Hi, I will begin trying out this software. I am running Microsoft RDP virtual machine (windows 10) session on an android tablet. I need the windows 10 virtual machine to be able to access and use an USB card reader physically connected to the android tablet. I think this is possible?
Any help appreciated and I will be resding these forums.
Thanks!
.
Yes it should work. Virtualhere will pass through the cardreader. Sometimes RDP hides tokens passed through via Virtualhere for some reason. But there might be a workaround.
Progress
Ok cool. I got it to work. The credit card reader works fine when I insert the credit card into it. When I try with the EMV contactless it gives an error
.
Error in virtualhere or the Credit Card software?
.
It beeps when I put the credit card close, but the credit card software a returns an error, something like "card not removed". However inserting the card into the reader there is no problem and the credit card processes fine
.
Im wondering if perhaps the reader is sleeping (VirtualHere wont support USB device sleep)
Use the reader via virtualhere then on the client side, Open Windows Device Manager in the menu select View ->By Connection. Find the reader under VirtualHere USB 3 eXtensible Host Controller then right click on the Reader and select Properties->Details Tab and then scroll to power settings and see if it lists the current state as D3 or D0. Also see if there is a tab called Power Events and if so UNcheck "Allow windows to power down this device" (or similar) so that is stays awake.
