macOS client: Does not find any VH servers

VH server is running fine. Windows clients successfully connect to it. So far, so good.

But the macOS client does have problems, it does not see the VH server. The client is installed in /Applications, not yet registered as a service, just started manually. The GUI comes up, but the server list stays empty.

The log looks like this:

I already have cleared the apple.com.quarantine attribute:

xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/VirtualHereUniversal.app

But this seems not to be enough. In "System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network" is no entry for VH, so I guess VH has no rights to access the local network?

Is there any verbose debug I could generate to narrow down the issue?
