Issue with Steam Controller (2026)

I would like to report an issue with the Steam Controller (2026). I am using the VirtualHere server (paid) on an Android TV box and the client on a Windows PC. I am using a TP-Link BT-500 USB adapter for connecting various game controllers. My Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch controllers all work fine using this adapter through VH. When I try connecting my Steam Controller, it connects in "lizard mode" for about a minute before turning itself off. Sometimes Steam sees it connected, but it usually doesn't, and either way this doesn't stop the controller from reverting to lizard mode and turning itself off. I plugged the BT-500 directly into my PC and the controller seems to work perfectly, so the issue has to lie with VH somehow. If there are any logs I can post or settings I can change to try and fix this or help isolate the issue, please let me know where to find them. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

With Steam closed, it stays connected in lizard mode indefinitely. Once Steam is open, the controller behavior doesn't change (as in it stays in lizard mode), and the controller shuts off after 30-60 seconds. If I plug the actual Controller Puck into VH and connect the controller to that, it works perfectly. It only seems to be a problem when using the Bluetooth adapter, even though other controllers work fine with it through VH.
