Bluetooth Dongle

Hi Michael. I have really bad lag with a new Bluetooth dongle I bought. It’s a logilink USB v4.0 and is recognised as CSR8510 A10 on my VirtualHere on PC. I use android Nvidia Shield TV and have a licence. I use a steam controller, keyboard on a 2.4GHz USB dongle all work fine with zero lag. But this Bluetooth dongle has so much latency. Tried Bluetooth mouse and a DS4 controller. They pair up fine on windows but have severe lag on my shadow pc. Could you help me please? I am unable to test the Bluetooth on another pc as I only have my shadow pc in the cloud. Thanks.

I’ve just tried the dongle on an old laptop that doesn’t have Bluetooth. It worked flawlessly. So not sure why it’s not working on VirtualHere. My VirtualHere on shadow works perfectly with steam controller, Xbox 360 wireless dongle, mayflash magic dongle, wireless Logitech keyboard but with this Bluetooth dongle it’s lagging latency like crazy.

Im guessing its probably interference from the on-board shield bluetooth. Could you disable that using an app from the playstore

I’ve tried disabled Bluetooth on the Shield and that’s not the problem. The lag is caused by the DS4 v2 controller somehow? The Bluetooth mouse lags when the DS4 controller is connected but doesn’t lag without the controller. I bought the dongle soley to use gyro aim on my DS4 through steam.

I can use the same controller wired and it works perfectly through VirtualHere but wireless through Bluetooth is a no go so far.

I dont know, virtualhere just passes the bluetooth signal via USB.

The only thing i can say is that in the past when it does this sort of thing its usually a bluetooth reception issue . You might have to try getting another brand of cheapy usb dongle perhaps a broadcom chipset.

Hi,

This is an old thread that I stumbled upon when experiencing the same problem as OP. Just want to post my experience and solution in case others have the same problem and finds this thread.

I have the same BT dongle (logilink, recognized as CSR8510 A10), and tried to connect to DS4 controller. I had no problem as long as the server/client was on the same network. But as soon as I connected from outside the network the latency increased to what I would say at least 0.3 seconds. This was a not a network issue, since other USB devices had close to no noticeable latency, for example a keyboard and mouse, or even the same DS4 controller connected over a wire instead of BT.

I tried the suggestion above, to replace my BT dongle and that seem to have solved the problem. I tried Asus USB-BT500 and now I experience a much lower latency when connected from an outside network. I have only tried over 4G, so not the perfect scenario, but I would say that the delay is almost not noticeable anymore. The small delay I notice is probably caused by the poor connection.

My client is a windows 11 pc and my server is an android phone.
