Ask about authorization

Hi Michael
After I tried vitualhere, I felt that this software is very good!
I mainly use it as cubase's usb dongle eLicenser
I use the server version 4.1.7 in Synology DS918+, eLicenser can connect on the client, but can not open cuabse, cubase has been stuck in the startup interface, and then reported an error.

I try to use windows as a service, Cubase can run on the client very well.
So I am about to use an i3 processor windows10 system as the vitualhere server.
1. Will the authorization to reinstall the system disappear after authorization?
2. Does replacing the hard drive affect the authorization?
3.vitualhere service in Synology DS918+ Please help me (if you can use NAS as a server)

I think when you say "authorization" you mean you purchase a license key.

1. Yes probably
2. No
3. If it doesnt work on synology but works on windows as the server, i would recommend using the windows server. Synology might not be compatible

#3

thank you for your reply!
What I said is indeed, buying the key。
Because i don't speak english,All descriptions are not very correct。
I used VH windows server to make sure that the USB dongle of Cubase, that is, eLicenser can be used normally. But I still want to use low-power linux as the server. So today I tried to install a linux system on one of my TV boxes. The CPU of my TV box is arm64 structure. So I installed armbian. Then run VH server in armbian. Unfortunately, the client's response is similar to when I used Synology as a server.
I pray for your help. I can tell you my remote port, can you remotely check linux arm server and windows server where they are wrong and cause eLicenser error

#4

Hi! Michael
At first, I suspected that eLicenser had restrictions on processors with arm64 architecture. But I just did a test, I restored my TV box to Android, and then run VH on Android, I found an interesting thing, I found an old Android VirtualHere USB Server version on Google, the version number is VirtualHere USB Server v2.6.6, eLicenser can successfully run on the version number VirtualHere USB Server v2.6.6, at this time I connect the USB eLicense on the windows client, and then run Cubase successfully.
After that, I deleted VirtualHere USB Server version 2.6.6, downloaded the latest VirtualHere USB Server version 4.0.7, and performed the same operation. At this time, the windows client cannot run Cubase.

#5

What I said above, Android VirtualHere USB Server v2.6.6 is actually VirtualHere USB Server v2.6.4
Sorry

#6

Thanks for the detailed information! That could be quite helpful, i will investigate this later in the week....

#7

Looking forward to your investigation. If you need to test, I can cooperate with you at any time.
I have a question about the VH client. Whenever the client finds the server, the client will pop up a window. Can this window be hidden?

#8

What does the windows say?

#9

Pop-up window prompt “VirtualHere USB Server Trial Edition (192.168.40.88:7575)”

Will I not be prompted again after purchasing the key?

#10

Correct, if you purchase a key that wont appear

#11

Hi, I use the 4g mobile network on the client, and sometimes the network will time out. I want to know if the client can set a longer time to wait, such as waiting for 10 seconds without clearing the connection. Or set to wait until the connection is not cleared, because the 4g network is sometimes unstable, which will cause the client to be easily cleared

#12

No there is not much that can be done if the 4G network is unreliable. You will have to try a few providers.

#13

Can the time for the client to clear the connection become longer, now I feel it should be around 3 seconds. Can it become 10 seconds

#14

It is already 12 seconds by default.

Hi
I am very excited, I try to reinstall the TV box, reinstall the Linux system, namely Armbian_5.94_Aml-s905_Debian_buster_default_5.2.0_desktop.img firmware. Linux kernel 5.2.0.
eLicenser can run smoothly on this version!
mac os client line!
Windows client OK!
My TV box model is PHICOMM N1, and its power consumption is very low, about 3 watts.
Although I am not very familiar with Linux systems, this is the best choice to use it as a dongle server. But the linux server is really great.
I will use it for a few more days to ensure the stability of the server, then I will buy the key

#16

OK thats great im glad to hear that.
