Line6 Helix issue

I just downloaded and installed the VirtualHere server image and client today and am unable to connect the HX edit software provided by Line6 to the Helix. My configuration is as follows:

Server: Raspberry PI4 RevB running firmware image 4.3.2
Client: OSX 10.15.7, client version 5.2.1
Network: connected to LAN wifi (not cloudhub wifi)

I can see the server and select "use" on the helix device, however the editing software does not see the helix device connected. If I plug the helix directly into the Mac, the software sees it right away. I did notice the device name in the USB output is different:

Connected to Mac:
ioreg -p IOUSB 3.7.4
+-o Root
+-o AppleUSBXHCI Root Hub Simulation@01000000
| +-o HELIX @01100000
+-o VirtualHere USB Enhanced Host Controller@1
+-o com_virtualhere_vhhcd

Connected via VirtualHere:
ioreg -p IOUSB 3.7.4
+-o Root
+-o VirtualHere USB Enhanced Host Controller@1
| +-o HELIX@1100000
+-o com_virtualhere_vhhcd

As you can see, when connected directly the device path has three spaces between HELIX and the @ path, and those spaces are not there when connecting via VirtualHere. It does not appear that there are special characters hidden in the spaces. Not sure if that makes a difference to the software or not, or if theres a different issue.

Connecting a USB drive to the raspberry pi and mounting that usb drive on the Mac works flawlessly.

Its not as clear here as it was in the editor but in the first example it should read HELIX____@01100000 using the _ character to represent spaces

#3

At the moment its not supported via virtualhere but it likely will be in osx 12 (or hopefully 11 too)
