Steam Link USB server running sub-optimally

I have looked through the steam forums, and found mentions of the Steam Link processor being too weak to run both VH and streaming together optimally.
I have however come across a different conclusion after some testing.

My USB device is a Thrustmaster T300 wheel.
I purchased the license

Here are the 2 test cases I have run so far:
1. Steam Link video streaming with native VH usb server
- Experiencing frame drops in the video when running with the T300. Video is not smooth, and stutters constantly.
2. Steam Link video streaming, with VH generic USB server vhusbdarm binary obtained from VH webpage.
- No issues whatsoever with the stream. This proves that the Steam Link processor is capable of keeping up with both video and USB streams. I ran the vhusbdarm binary manually through SSH before starting the video stream.

Hypothesis:
I have looked at the usb_sharing.sh script in the Steam Link, and nothing stands out as being an issue.
I have also looked at the priotity of both processes (native and standalone generic), and they are both set at 20.
At this point, the only conclusion I can come to is the native Steam Link VH server is running sub-optimally.

Is it possible for you to update the native binary to at least run as well as the generic vhusbdarm version on your webpage?

Thanks for letting me know, ill do that first thing in the new year

Thanks Michael. I am very hopeful that the SL is just using an older codebase, that can be updated easily on your end.

For the mean time, I created 2 additional launchers on the SteamLink to manually run and kill the vhusbdarm process, prior to streaming the video.
But I really would like to use the SteamLink VH since I already purchased the license through Steam that lets me use multiple devices.

Appreciate the quick response. Happy Holidays!

Ive emailed valve with the new server so hopefully it goes into their next firmware build for the steamlink

That is wonderful news.

Is it possible for me to get a copy of the new binary, so I can manually load it into my steam link in the mean time?
