Getting unexpected system shutdowns since installing VirtualHere for SteamLink

Forums

Since installing VirtualHere on December 6th my computer has been shutting down unexpectedly several times. Before installing VirtualHere, I did not have that problem. Now, it appears to be happening when my computer goes to sleep after I had a longer Steam Link session where I use VirtualHere to pass through the input of my T.16000M FCS HOTAS to Elite: Dangerous.

The event log shows an event ID 1001 from the source BugCheck every time this has happened with the following even details:

TPCast: Still 10% CPU Load of virtualhere after quitting SteamVR 37% on the powerbox

Forums

Hi,

I just exited SteamVR and the Vive is now soft-off but the VH is sill connected.
Additional to that i am still having some ghost drivers, even I turn VH off before I unplug the battery.
the Powerbox has a hight load too, I add a link to a screenshot to the current situation.
We found a workaround with the camera so its enabled on the REV1-Vive.

Ignore device from client and save config at server?

Forums

I'm testing NAS Server version, my NAS is QNAP, and the version is 3.4.7.

When I ignore a device(example: xxxx/yyyy) from client, I found that the config.ini at server has the config "IgnoredDevices=xxxx/yyyy".

Every client can ignore devices and save the config to server? Amazing....

Virtualhere cloudhub (raspberry pi3) DHCP server active on lan

Forums

Hi!

I plugged a raspi 3 with the virtualhere image on it into our network yesterday.
Configured it via the client with static ip and part of existing network.

Got a call today from my manager asking if I had i setup a dhcp server on our network.

Found out that the virtualhere image had dhcp server running on the lan interface.
Found out that I could disable it via /etc/config/dhcp, and adding option ignore '1' in the lan section.

Compression of video

Forums

I want to transmit video from a usb 2.0 camera (1600 x 1200 576 Mbps) connected to a single board computer over WIFI-n or WIFI-ac.

1. Obviously, compression is required... I am therefore interested in the compression scheme used by virtual here. What is the specification and how capable is it of compressing video?

After Updating Qnap NAS, license is not recognized anymore

Forums

I HAve QNAP nas with VirtualHere Server on it. I purchsed a license last month, serial 00089bf0d378. Now serial number changed to "ts,s/n=00089bf0d379,1 device" after QNAP firmware update to 4.3.4, so license is not working anymore.
How can i use this licence? Can i have a new code? Why s/n changed?
Thanks.

TPCast/HTC Vive Not Connecting

Forums

I tried to set up TPCast last night, for Open TPCast, but when I connect the battery to the power box, along with powering on the router and transmitter, and activating Virtualhere, the power box won't show up in the USB devices. I've even tried to connect to tp CAST.local on my laptop, but the control panel doesn't respond. I returned the factory memory card to the power box, booted everything up, opened the TP CAST software, and the TP CAST connects. What can I check in Virtualhere, to fix this issue?

Possible to disable DNS server or ipv6?

Forums

I'm having an issue where my VirtualHere CloudHub (rpi) is showing up as an ipv6 DNS server on my network. For most clients this isn't an issue, but on our Android phones for example, they seem to get stuck looking at the ipv6 DNS and it completely breaks DNS (for everything, these are NOT VirtualHere clients). I've done a lot of testing and if I disable ipv6 on VirtualHere CloudHub the other clients work perfectly. The problem is, it seems there's a daemon that keeps restarting ipv6 on the CloudHub, so this only works temporarily. Is there any way to get the CloudHub to stop using ipv6?
