VirtualHere drops connection after some seconds over Steam Link

Forums

My wireless Microsoft all-in-one keyboard drops connection if it stays idle for 10 seconds and I must re-enable it again and keep in mind to not leave the keyboard or the mouse idle more than ten seconds.
I just bought VirtualHere and I think this is a major issue.

Can you please advise?

Thank you in advance

Linux server process owner

Forums

Hi,
Just a quick question. Does the Linux Virtualhere server need to run as root or can it be run as a user with lower privileges? I think there may be hints around the place that it needs to be root, and I can imagine that it may need to be in order to be able to access the usb hardware, but I can't see it explicitly stated anywhere.
Many thanks.

Raspberry Pi 4 (64bit) is faster?

Forums

What’s better? To use Raspberry Pi 4 with a 32bit Raspbian kernel and use the VirtualHere USB Server Optimized for Pi4 (armv7l) or to upgrade the Raspbian kernel to use 64bit (aarch64) configuring the /boot/config.txt file (inserting arm_64bit=1) just as the following tutorial suggests https://medium.com/for-linux-users/how-to-make-your-raspberry-pi-4-fast…

Advice For Windows 10 Hyper V

Forums

Need some assistance / advice regarding usage on Windows 10 HyperV. I was using trial version before where VirtualHere Server reside at HyperV Host and VirtualHere Client reside at Hyper V machine which reside inside the same PC as HyperV Host and it works brilliantly before this. Before this it can connect to the Server via Auto-Find Hubs. Without any chances being done, now it can no longer connect to the VirtualHere Server. Both option has been tried (Auto-Find Hubs and Specify Hubs) and failed.
My current network configuration:

Changed Server SID ... did I break my license?

Forums

We found out we'd cloned a Domain Controller as another Virtual Machine and had to change the SID of the 2nd VM ... which uses the VirtualHere client to read a license dongle on the VM host system.

The error message is "When running the client as a service you can only connect to purchased servers."

But we purchased the server....

Any assistance is figuring out our next step in this will be appreciated.

Shutdown Pi Zero W on client disconnect.

Forums

Hi!

I'm in a process of building myself a wireless version of X52 Pro H.O.T.A.S. As it's going to be a single relatively low bandwidth USB device going only over the local network I landed on using Raspberry Pi Zero W for the server side with CloudHub firmware installed and my initial testing is very positive. I ordered myself new fresh Pi Zero W and a UPS hat with built in charging circuity for a LiPo cell I have lying around and I hope to fit it all inside the throttle housing. So I'm looking for a way to gracefully shutdown the Pi once I'm finished using it.

Nvidia Shield TV + xbox one wireless producing ghost inputs when using steam link

Forums

I have an xbox one dongle in my nvidia shield tv running virtualhere (demo version on android). I've noticed that when playing games through the steam link app, it seems like inputs I'm not entering are being input--for example, in Bloodstained pressing jump (A) will result in the immediate input of attack (X), without touching the button. When running the same controller with the dongle connected to the computer rather than the shield, I do not encounter this issue. What might be causing this?
