Bluetooth issues with multiple servers (Nvidia Shield) and one client (Win 10)

Forums

Hello:

I have read through quite a few posts and I'm not sure of the best way to handle this scenario. I have (2) Nvidia Shields connecting to the same PC. They will never connect at the same time. Ideally, I'd like to be able to use a game controller on either of the Shields and the PC. Here is where I am now:

Device license with multiple OSes on the device

Forums

Hi,

I have a Latte Panda and want to use is as a streaming client, it has Linux and Windows on different drives.
As you license definition is per device, are both VH servers then creating the same ID on this device and I only need to buy one license,
or so I need to buy 2, so for every OS one?

snmp over usb?

Forums

I'm running VirtualHere on a Pi and have connected two usb printers (Samsung with no wifi). This works great for all desktops connected to the same network. I used to connect the printers to ethernet directly and have LibreNMS monitor the printer by SNMP. Is it possible to have VirtualHere act as an SNMP server for the connected USB printers (if something as snmp over USB even exist)?

Bluetooth Dongle

Forums

Hi Michael. I have really bad lag with a new Bluetooth dongle I bought. It’s a logilink USB v4.0 and is recognised as CSR8510 A10 on my VirtualHere on PC. I use android Nvidia Shield TV and have a licence. I use a steam controller, keyboard on a 2.4GHz USB dongle all work fine with zero lag. But this Bluetooth dongle has so much latency. Tried Bluetooth mouse and a DS4 controller. They pair up fine on windows but have severe lag on my shadow pc. Could you help me please? I am unable to test the Bluetooth on another pc as I only have my shadow pc in the cloud. Thanks.

Windows 10 & McAfee Firewall issues with Bonjour

Forums

I am using VirtualHere between a Windows 10 host and a Windows 10 Hyper-V virtual machine. I can get VirtualHere to work if I lookup the host's IP address and paste it into the client tool. However, the host IP address is DHCP and can change and it is cumbersome to do it this way.

I would like to use Bonjour to automatically detect the host server. However, due to firewall issues (I assume), I'm not able to get that to work.

Getting "There was an error using this device" when trying to use usb stick through Shadow

Forums

Brand new Sandisk Ultra 3.0..when trying to use Virtualhere to recognize the USB through Shadow I'm getting a "There was an error using this device" message. Windows then shuts down my USB and says it malfunctioned. Here's a log if it helps..

Switching devices from different client

Forums

Hi,

I'd have a virtualhere server on a raspberry pi 4, running using systemd, and several client daemons on other linux machines. I read in the client api post that it is possible to send commands to another instance of the client using named pipes.

If I look on my machines, I see the single path '/tmp/vhclient_ipc/socket', where the post says linux uses two pipes, one for each direction. As I understand it, pipes and sockets are different things.

Do you have any examples of accessing different clients?

Geovision GV-Series USB Protector issue

Forums

I'm having an odd issue when connecting to a Geovision GV-Series USB Protector key using Virtualhere. When the device is selected for use, it shows up in device manager with an error code 10, The specified request is not a valid operation for the target device. If I disable the device in device manager and re-enable it, it then works fine. Running the latest 5.0.2 client on Windows Server 2016, and server version 3.4.7.1 on a QNAP TS432XU-RP.
