VirtualHere Server & Client on the same Windows PC
Hello,
Support for VirtualHere hardware and software
Hello,
My VH sever periodically stops working on Synology DS918+NAS, DSM 6.2.2, perhaps after automatic DSM update. It always needs manual restart. This is very inconvenient for users since action of administrator is needed. Pls advice.
I'm contemplating placing my desktop in another room and use VirtualHere to get the USB devices working.
I've gotten an RPi4B and it's connected via a 1Gbit/s wired connection via a Ubiqity switch to my desktop. I have a SSD connected via USB3 which easily out-performs the network (It does a few hundred MB/s when connected with USB 3.1 gen 1 cable to the appropriate hub).
My latency is hovering at 1ms according to vh. My desktop is a i7 running Win10 64bit. I'm using the free version for now to evaluate the experience.
Hi all,
I just installed the client software on my Mojave Mac Pro system. I clicked allow in the system preferences and the client said the install was unsuccessful and to restart. Which is what I did.
Now the fans of the Mac are on 100% and the system takes 10 minutes to boot. The interface is incredibly slow and I am now unable to reboot.
Urgent help required!
Many thanks,
Hello recently, I have noticed that every time I install a server update on Synology NAS, the config.ini that keeps my settings is being reset. I always have to copy my custom settings through ssh, which is not very convenient. Today i tried copying my old config.ini file inside the virtualhere folder to a backup file like config.bak, for an easier restoration but after updating server to version 4.1.2 I looked inside the folder and the .bak file was also erased. Is this the expected prcedure, or is it something wrong with my istallation process?
Thanks
Hi
I'm using a RPI2 Model B to share some devices to other PCs. The devices are generally just peripheral types such as mice, keyboards, game pads etc. and the occasional memory stick.
I appreciate the memory stick will be heavily constrained and that is fine but is the ethernet port link speed sufficient for the other USB hardware indicated? I don't want to go and purchase a license for the unit and then find I should have got a RPI4 with the 1GB ethernet port and then be able to transfer the license.
Being a happy user for several years with a quite simple setup: Synology NAS with VH server license serving a single Win10 client.
Client version is v4.9.7, running as a service. After updating the server from v3.9.4 to v4.1.1, the client now is unhappy, telling me that he can only connect to licensed servers. Does the v4 server require a new license key?
Synology packet manager disallows downgrading the package, so right now I am somehow lost and appreciate any support.
Best regards,
Udo Keller
Trying to find a solution for in-game comms when using Parsec gaming when connected from my laptop to my gaming rig on the same internal network.
I have no problem getting the laptop where my headphones are connected to send the mic over the network to the PC gaming rig using VirtualHere.
The problem I have is that the microphone sounds very "scratchy".
Anyone else having this issue or know how to solve? I have an ultrafast internal network that is all wired so I don't think it is a latency issue.
Can’t seem to get any video from the webcam, tried a few diff clients.
Do I need licence for this or is my rp too old?
Can someone outline what is needed to share usb devices connected to a barebones Windows 10 server located on a remote network? No static ip addresses. I'm wanting to be able to back up my home media files to a Virtualhere server computer attached to usb drives located at my office. My office Virtualhere server computer merely has internet access served by my employer's router. Thanks.
