"adb devices" do not show Android devices (Linux Server)

Forums

"adb devices" from VirtualHere client hosts do not show Android devices connected to a Linux server.

Linux server being used is 3.9.8 / "VirtualHere USB Server for Linux (AMD64)".
Server OS is Ubuntu 16.04, and the issue happens regardless of client OS (be it Windows or Linux).
Other USB devices like USB mass storage works fine.

Is there something I can try?

Raspberry Pi 4 upgrade or no?

Forums

I currently run a licensed USB server on an RPi 3 with the optimised build, connected to my gigabit network with an Ethernet cable. Can anyone (well, Michael) tell me if upgrading to a Pi 4 is worthwhile? I currently only have a keyboard, mouse, wireless keyboard/trackpad combo and a wireless Xbox One controller adaptor connected and have zero issues or complaints, but I'm thinking of getting a headset which will I assume will be a significant extra load for the server to serve, but is that within the capability of a Pi 3 server?

update to the https://www.virtualhere.com/oem_faq - missing steps in instruction

Forums

<p>Hi Michael,<br />
on https://www.virtualhere.com/oem_faq there is a description of how to install VH as a deamon on systemd (Rpi...). It lacks a couple of steps which are not obvious for the novice. I have added my suggestions below. Think vhusbdarm_RV should be bold to emphasize it must be customized.
</p>
<p>And there is a mistake in init.d instructions: Rpi is not init.d based so should not be mentioned in step one, Should read "ssh to your init.d system"<br />

Android - the client does not connect to the server

Forums

Hi!
I bought an android license half a year ago to use it on my nvidia shield and gamepad elite.
It worked fine, but from that time I didn’t use program.

Now I decided to play, updated the client to the latest version, but it cannot connect to the server on the shield. It tries to connect time after time and nothing happens.
I re-installed the program on the Shield, the license has flown off, but the client still cannot connect.

I do not understand what to do?

Server issues on macOS 10.14

Forums

Hello,

We have been evaluating Virtual Here for multiple use cases and everything has been going well and worked as expected. We have tried most combinations of Windows/Linux(both Ubuntu desktop and OpenWRT)/macOS as both client and server.

The only issue we are currently facing is the Server on macOS 10.14.5 - the Virtual Here server version we are evaluating is 3.9.5.

The log contains the following items:

XBox One controller

Forums

Hello,
I am trying to connect 2 controllers (a generic gamepad and a xbox one gamepad). I have bought a license last week but I'm not able to connect the xbox one controller (the generic controller works fine).
I am using a rapberry pi 3 with the server specifically compiled for it and windows 10 64 bits with the client installed as a service.
The xbox one controller works fine when connected directly to the windows 10 computer.
Is virtualhere compatible with the xbox one controller ? Is there anything that I can do to have it work ?
Thank you by advance !

Huge list of questions, about to purchase but need to check some boxes :P

Forums

I have a few questions before I proceed with my purchase.

1) i predominantly use a shieldtv with the steam link app. Using a DS4 or Xbox One is currently possible, however not ideal due to android hijacking some button mappings (select/back etc) and requiring valve to improvise with button combos. I detest it. Will this solution allow me to circumvent that and still use steam configs system for mapping? (I assume so, but want to be certain)
