Support for VirtualHere hardware and software
Would it technically possible to change the code in a way that allows you to access to one device from two pcs simultaneously?
for example a webcam..
Hello,
I just tried to check whether VirtualHere works for me with the following device: I installed it (that means: the evaluation version) on a Synology NAS device and connected a USB DVD/CD writer to it with the intention to use it over the network. Technically, it is a rather old one and consists of an IDE/ATAPI DVD writer in a housing with a USB/IDE bridge. (Sorry; I do not have a vendor/device ID available)
Hi,
did anyone already have success to install Virtualhere on a TP-Link WR703n with OpenWrt?
After success with a raspi, I wanted to test this with this little compact router with integrated wifi-interface
First, I do not know which package is the right one.
And then, I only had success on my raspi because of the very detailed and helpful OEM-FAQ. I am linux beginner, and very thankful for those step by step instructions.
Hi!
i've got the problem with update VirtualHere package on QNAP-469L. Now i have ver. 1.8.4
i did successfull update on QNAP firmware 4.1.1
if i use WEB gui of QNAP application center for update - update freeze on 22%.
if i use manual updte in application center - update freeze on 45%.
and only reboot of QNAP may help restart VirtualHere service, but update is not completed!!!
please help resolve problem!
I'm trying to start vhusbdx86_64 on centos 7, with all the packages up to date.
It immediately exits, with an error code of 5.
The syslog contains the following:
Hi,
having a closer look on the OEM-Faq, I was able to get virtualhere running on a raspi in very short time :-)
Now I have fully access to my arduino.
Thanks Michael !!!
But the next step would be, to get wireless connection.
Can anybody tell me:
- is this is possible?
- can i take every usb-wifi adapter, or do i have to pay attention and buy a specific one?
- what changes do i have to make on the rasp-pi?
Thanks for any reply in advance
regards/brutzler
Hi,
quite new to the LINUX Comunity but willing to learn.
I have installed the USB Server on a Rasperi PI and downloaded the Client on my WIN 7 PC. This will be work wonderfull. Now i want to install the client on my linux mint 64 xfce PC but it wont work.
I have installed the usbip drivers and downloaded the client for ubuntu 13.04+ (amd64). If i click on the icon the system ask with wich programm i want to open the file ? If if use the console and the "sudo" command for the downloaded file for the console only mode it wont work too !
New to pi and linux. I've installed USB Over IP from The Pi Store and would like to test it using the UI (showing each usb device.)
Each time I run it from the Pi store, I get a dialog "VirtualHere USB Server requires avahi-daemon. Would you like to intall this now?"
After responding 'Yes' VirtualHere displays another dialog with a button to start/stop the server and an about button. I don't see the tree view of connected usb devices.
I just installed a virtual here server on raspbian. It works well and start up at boot time.
With my ubuntu, the client ui works well and the attached keyboard on the pi is usable on my laptop...
But with windows 64 client, the scan of usb hub make the pi to hang...
Do you have any idea ? I must have it working on windows before thinking to purchase my first licence to test. If the problem is solved, i will purchase à lot of licences.... do you have any plan to allow bulk prices ?
I'm trying to connect to a USB DAC.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
I've installed the software to my CuBox i4pro using the rpi complilation on an openelec image, and its all up and running fine.
I can connect from my MAC using the client, and can see / use the USB port from OSX.
Thumbdrives are certainly working fine.
