Server Configuration for Synology DSM 5.2

Forums

Your documentation is thin and incomplete regarding FINDING the config.ini file for Synology DSM 5.2. Please edit first paragraph at https://www.virtualhere.com/configuration_faq

The VirtualHere config.ini file for Synology DSM 5.2 is found here:

/volume1/@appstore/VirtualHere/

Also, it took me a while to find the port number for connecting over the internet to my Synology NAS. Finally found it at the very bottom of this page:

Install client drivers on Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) running as KVM

Forums

Trying to get working client on Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64)
Client starts, connects to server and even starts using the remote USB key (USB key with files).
I can see new storage device but when trying to access this disk an Explorer can not open the drive.

Have noticed that threre are no SimplyCore devices in device manager that are existing on Windows 7 x64 notebook (without virtualization layer)

Could you please clarify whether it possible to use VirtualHere in virtualizated environment (manly with Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 servers) ?

Client crashes after a while

Forums

Hi I am seeing 2 issues on my client.

1) Is that the config file seems to be overwritten at each boot. I have set AUTO USE ALL many times ([AUTOSHARE] ALL=1), but upon restart of the service auto use all is off. What could be causing that.

2) Which is currently more serious, is that the service seems to get stuck in a bad state, and drops all the USB connections. Here are the logs I've gathered from the device.

USB Slowdown

Forums

I am currently seeing a 10x slowdown of USB speeds while operating via virtualhere vs direct, is this normal?

I'm generally seeing throughput of 5000-6000Kb/s via direct usb, but only seeing 500Kb/s through virtual here. I'm running on a Raspi server, with the client connected to the same switch. I'm still debugging if this is related to the Raspi hardware, the hub, or the software, but figured I'd start here to see if anyone has seen the same thing.

Thanks!
