Issues with "Microsoft Wireless All-In-One Media Keyboard"

Forums

I am trying to run VirtualHere on a Raspberry pi 4 sever to connect some peripherals to my windows 10 client. I am having particular trouble with a wireless keyboard I just got, the Microsoft Wireless All-In-One Media Keyboard. Once I connect, it works for a minute or two but then the client stops responding to any input on the keyboard.

Run server as non-root user on Linux?

Forums

<p>Hello,

<p>Is it possible to run the server as a non-root user on Linux?
</p>
<p>I'm thinking that it should be possible, provided the user has permissions to whatever files that the server requires to function.
</p>
<p>When I try to start it, it gives me a permission error and tells me to run as root, but I'm wondering if it's just a simple uid check that fails, or whether it's failing to access some specific file that I can allow permission to.

Frequent disconnection/reconnection of USB dongle with no server or system log events

Forums

We have been having issues with a dongle disconnecting and reconnecting that will happen sporadically (but at least once every 20 minutes) and interferes with our use of the software. I've captured a video of this happening because there is seemingly no indication of it occurring in the system or client logs. What I do see occurring is warnings in Event Viewer about USB drivers every single time it disconnects and reconnects:

HASP dongle on Mac M1

Forums

Hello,

I have installed latest virtualhere universal for a macbook with the M1 chip. It's working properly with a usb flash device though I am facing issues when binding a Sentinel HASP key, it shows up on the client but i have an error when connecting to it. Client shows no log and I have the error below on the server:

Autolaunch at Boot? (Mac)

Forums

Hey, sorry if this has been answered before, but I'm not able to find it (which is weird because I thought for sure I found this info before). I've had VH Client running on almost every os including Catalina flawlessly for years, but recently I bought a new computer with Catalina and I'm having trouble getting VH Client to auto launch at boot. I have put the app in the login items, which I don't think is how I used to do it, and it doesn't launch. I have to manually click the app to launch it. I think I used to use a command line to have the client boot automatically? Thanks.

State of iPhone sharing to Mac in 2022

Forums

Hi, I've been test driving the state of sharing an iPhone 7 with a Mac Mini client with VirtualHere. After several hours of failed attempts at troubleshooting (I'm a software developer myself so I was able to tinker with the systems, sadly to no avail), I think it's time to write here to summarize the situation as I see it (just in case it is useful for future readers), and ask for a bit of official comments here :-)

The details of my machines are:

Trying to Uninstall

Forums

I am trying to uninstall Client 5.3.2 in Windows 10.

I have tried opening an admin powershell window and entering vhui64.exe -y however this fails with vhui64.exe : The term 'vhui64.exe' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function,..... I have also tried using vhui32.exe.

What am I doing wrong? Can you advise how I can uninstall the client & drivers?

Thanks

Regarding single-device sharing on RPi zero W

Forums

I was wondering if you'll ever consider allowing a license type for single-device sharing (same limitations as the trial, but without the constant trial popup), as i'm only ever going to have a single device on a pi zero, but it's frankly absurd to spend $50 on a license that I can't ever move to another piece of hardware. this would be the only software license in my entire life that behaves this way, and is an unreasonable stipulation when the end result is a $50 license permanently tied to a $15 piece of hardware.
