Disconnect USB device on another computer

Forums

Hello !

It seems that support for disconnect an USB device from another computer has been dropped in v5.3.4
I tried to update the server, but no chance ...
I had to downgrade to v5.1.4 which is the one I used before, to get this feature back.

Setup is Raspberry Pi 3B+ with optimised server build and clients are on MacOS several versions from High Sierra to Mojave with client version 5.3.4
Didn't try with clients on MacOs 11 to 13

Can you fix this please ?

Thanks.

Bad lag and frequent disconnects from Nvidia Shield Pro to Windows PC

Forums

Hello,

I am getting very frequent disconnects and bad lag on the following setup:

Server (licensed): Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 (ethernet)
USB device: TP-Link UB500 Bluetooth Adapter
Bluetooth device: Dualshock 4 controller
Client: Windows 10 PC (ethernet)
Streaming software: Moonlight

Plugging the usb bluetooth device directly into my PC does not result in any issues.

I am able to stream 4k content without any issues between the two devices.

Please advise on how best to proceed.

Thanks and regards.

Virtual PC won't connect to main server

Forums

Just a fair warning knowing me I'm very likely doing something wrong and just not realizing it.

I have the server running on my PC just fine, however my issue is that on the Virtual PC I want to get my USB devices to show up on, it doesn't "see" my PC. I'm not sure why. It just says "Hubs" and nothing else. What do I do here?

Thanks.

How to use on Mac?

Forums

Hi.
I added the VH server on Synology NAS a couple weeks ago when I was first setting it all up. I moved some external drives over there today and wanted to try the client.
Well, the trial was already timed out, so I've paid $50 to 'test' this now :-)

iPad not found by iTunes

Forums

Hi,

I'm trying to connect an iPad to a Windows 10 VM running iTunes. I've tried hosting the server on a Windows 11 server, but couldn't get iTunes to see the device, and I've tried hosting the server on a raspberry pi.

Both times the VM sees the iPad, shows it in Device Manager, allows me to go to the device in explorer, but iTunes is not detecting the device.

Is there anything I can do to get this to work? I only need to connect the device once to enable WiFi syncing to setup AltServer.

Thanks

Firewalls and ports

Forums

Hi,

I know that VirtualHere utilises mDNS on port 5353 and ports 7573-7575 for it's main functionality, however, in all the forum posts and articles I've read it's not immediately clear (at least not to my dull brain) whether these ports need to be opened on the client, the server or both.

I know that for general mDNS functionality, port 5353 will need to be open on both client and server.
