Device not usable after server shut down

Forums

Hey Y'all

Bought my license yesterday and everything was working as it should I'm using a wireless Keyboard/Mouse combo (Wireless USB Dongle) and an xbox wireless adapter on my Sony X900F, which is shared to my PC, from which I'm streaming my Desktop for all sorts of purposes (Via Moonlight). I set the server not to start when the TV boots, since I want to use the keyboard on the TV aswell, and only on the PC when I need it.

Cloudhub wifi password issue

Forums

I am able to connect the Cloudhub to wifi that has a simple password.

When the password is complex, the access point accepts the password blindly, but upon restart cannot start the wlan network interface. This password is very long, has single quote characters (e.g., '), has embedded spaces and a few punctuation characters. I suspect it is the quotes or the length which is the issue.

Unfortunately the raspberry pi 3 B+ does not respond to the usb keyboard when looking at the terminal (and the network is down for ssh), so it's hard to debug.

Linux Console Mode, HELP with passing arguments: Unexpected Perameter

Forums

I running the VH client on Ubuntu 16.04 (an embedded system) . When I try to manually add a hub: sudo ./vhclientarm64 -t manual hub add,10.236.224.94 I receive an unexpected parameter error. The error does not recognize the 'hub' argument.

Any help with the above issue or with running the linux gui will be greatly appreciated?

"adb devices" do not show Android devices (Linux Server)

Forums

"adb devices" from VirtualHere client hosts do not show Android devices connected to a Linux server.

Linux server being used is 3.9.8 / "VirtualHere USB Server for Linux (AMD64)".
Server OS is Ubuntu 16.04, and the issue happens regardless of client OS (be it Windows or Linux).
Other USB devices like USB mass storage works fine.

Is there something I can try?

Raspberry Pi 4 upgrade or no?

Forums

I currently run a licensed USB server on an RPi 3 with the optimised build, connected to my gigabit network with an Ethernet cable. Can anyone (well, Michael) tell me if upgrading to a Pi 4 is worthwhile? I currently only have a keyboard, mouse, wireless keyboard/trackpad combo and a wireless Xbox One controller adaptor connected and have zero issues or complaints, but I'm thinking of getting a headset which will I assume will be a significant extra load for the server to serve, but is that within the capability of a Pi 3 server?

update to the https://www.virtualhere.com/oem_faq - missing steps in instruction

Forums

<p>Hi Michael,<br />
on https://www.virtualhere.com/oem_faq there is a description of how to install VH as a deamon on systemd (Rpi...). It lacks a couple of steps which are not obvious for the novice. I have added my suggestions below. Think vhusbdarm_RV should be bold to emphasize it must be customized.
</p>
<p>And there is a mistake in init.d instructions: Rpi is not init.d based so should not be mentioned in step one, Should read "ssh to your init.d system"<br />
