Support for VirtualHere hardware and software

Asus Rog Monitor / Router / LG TV

Forums

Hi

Hope you can help, I'm trying to have a remote based PC but then need to have a wirless keyboard, mouse and games controller locally.

Virtual Here seems to make the most sense in terms of being able to use but not sure if I can get natively to any of the devices to act as the server.

I have in the room which have USB connections

- a Asus ROG 34 monitor which has a USB hub built in which is what I'd prefer to use
- LG OLED B7
- Asus RT-AX88U router

Are any of these options?

Error in identifying NAS

Forums

I just installed the Trial version for my Synology NAS ... when i double click on the taskbar icon, it displays the info that i am running the "trial" version, BUT, it displays the wrong name for my NAS ... a few months ago, we had changed the name of the NAS ... OLD name = "NAS-2" ... new name = NAS-1" ... for some reason, VirtualHere displays "Nas-2.local:17570" - which is the OLD name ... please advise -

Newbie question about using it on NVIDIA Shield

Forums

Hello,

I just discovered VirtualHere yesterday when trying to fix an issue with file sharing on my NVIDIA Shield and I love it! I have a newbie question tho which I'm not sure if it's an actual limitation of the software or simply a setting I am missing somewhere.

Here's my situation.

AppleTV - Is it supported?

Forums

So I've got a bunch of Android TV based nVidia Shields but in NZ the Apple TV has more apps for the TV services here so I'm considering whether I could replace them with Apple TV 4Ks. I use VirtualHere to pass through my game controllers for Steam and Parsec, and now that Steam has Remote Play on Apple TV I figured I'd ask whether VirtualHere was possible? I know I could use a SOC type device such as RPi to acheieve the same outcome but a single device would be better.

Cheers

Chris

bind failed

Forums

Hi,

thank you for this nice piece of software!
we have tested it with a x-ray sensor and it worked like a charm.
A few day's lated we tested again and get lots of bind failed errors and are unable to connect the x-ray sensor to the client software.
I have no idea what i can do or what changed as it worked flaweless.
Is there anything other then, pluggin in and rightclicking in the client "use this device" ?

Here is a client and server log, this server is unregistered until now:

RS485 USB Dongles at both ends of a Raspberry Pi to Raspberry Pi system

Forums

I have two devices that communicate using RS485 at 9600. I have a licensed copy of the server and it is great. Using the GUI client I see the date from the server using the Cutecom client. I have not confirmed the return data but it appears to work and it is logical.

What I have not figured out is how to send the received data to the client end and get the return from a client end dongle.

Any help or pointers is appreciated.

I am so impressed with the product!

Thank you

USB Power on RaspBerry Pi Zero W too low

Forums

When we try to use VirtualHere service on a Raspberry Pi Zero W running plugged into a USB port for power, we can't see any devices plugged in when we connect with the VirtualHere client. When we plug an external power source plugged into the wall into the same "server" device, we see the plugged in devices on the Raspberry Hub. Shouldn't this work with USB port supplied power? Is there something we need to do? Has anyone else had this issue and solved it?

User aduit

Forums

Hello, we use VirtualHere for Licence Dongle sharing. It would be really helpful if it was possible to pull out user useage stats. This would allow us to have an understanding of how frequently licences are being used, and would assist when deciding if to purchase additaional licences, or reduce our holding.

Would this be possible at the moment, or could it be considered for the future?

Many thanks.

DS4 Controllers not reconnecting (Bluetooth dongle RPi to Win7)

Forums

Due to the way my room is set up I wanted to move the BT dongle i use to connect my DualShock4 controllers to my PC for Gamestream purposes to my Raspi3 under my TV instead of on my Desktop PC in the corner.

The Dongle is a LogiLink BT0037 [registers in Windows as CSR8510 A10] and works perfectly with 3 controllers at once, reconnection to the PC and Inputmapper happening without fuss if plugged into the PC
