Raspbian: can't use USB device again after sharing without reboot

Forums

Hi,
i use a Pi3 with Raspbian. After i start vhusbdpin share the xbox360 controller with windows and stop vhusbdpin, the xbox360 controller is no longer usable under Raspbian. I tried to modprobe -r xpad and modprobe xpad, but it still isn't found. If i reboot the Pi3 the controller works again. How can i get the controller working without reboot?

VH server v3.19 regularly "exits/crashes' on OS X 10.11.6

Forums

VH server v3.19 regularly "exits/crashes' on OS X 10.11.6.

I am using some Nordic NRF USB devices (dongle and dev kit). I turned one off and another on and VH server "exits/crashses".

I leave my PowerBook on overnight and normally VH server stays up for days and days. I think VHS is exiting when just sitting there.

Is there known issues with VHS with OS X 10.11.6 ?

Would upgrading to OS X 10.12 likely to make things better or worse ?

Thanks, Brendan.

I am running a mac client and a windows server. It seems to connect but doest stay connected.

I am getting this error message on the mac client:

08:35:01 INFO :Connection 1 receiving msg size didnt complete due to error 9, Bad file descriptor
08:35:31 INFO :Server ping timeout, shutting down connection 1...

I am getting this error message on the windows server:

Duplicate hub

Forums

If I reboot my (raspberry pi 3) server, everything will be normal for a few minutes. Then a duplicate hub shows up in my client (with devices listed as "in use by at ") . As far as I can tell the client considers the hubs to be the same, because if I check "auto use all on this hub" on one it changes for both. Not sure if it's actually causing any problems, but there's some miscellaneous issues I'm trying to track down and this is clearly not ideal behavior to see.

Command Line Control

Forums

I am currently trying to create a program in Visual Studio, where users are able to use the VirtualHere Client through this program.

Now, I know that there is information regarding the VirtualHere USB Client being controlled by another program or command line, but I am still unsure about some things.

Users will have the option to connect to several different VirtualHere Servers, all have USB devices connected to them. Is there a way to change the Device Name of the components that are connected to each VirtualHere Server?

Status of iLok support on Sierra?

Forums

I'm currently using:
OSX: 10.12.2
VH Client: 3.8.9
VH Server 3.1.9 using Synology

Using Virtual Here and an iLok worked for me the first time I set it up but after that, any program that needs to check the iLok freezes up. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iLok works inconsistently and isn't really an option for me anyway. I saw this was happening for other people about a year ago but it doesn't look like there's an actual fix for this yet. Is iLok still supported or expected to work with VirtualHere at some point?

Virtualhere USB Root Hub remains active during S0 low power idle

Forums

I have been trying out VirtualHere on a laptop which uses S0 low power idle (aka Modern Standby or Connected Standby) instead of the traditional S3 standby. On this machine, powercfg -sleepstudy shows that the VirtualHere root hub (USB Root Hub (xHCI) (USB\ROOT_HUB30)) remains active during standby. This appears to result in a small power drain during sleep: powercfg -batteryreport indicates that 2% (1010mWh) was used during a 11-hour sleep.

GUI for VH service

Forums

Hello Michael

Could you please extend vhui so that it can connect to a locally running service?

For myself working with CLI is ok but I have colleagues and customers which can't work like this (lack of IT knowledge).

It would be really nice to have vhui extended so that it detects a locally running VH service and then connects to it for configuration (saying so that it's connected to a service).

Thank you

Greetings
Theo
