Virtual Here Through VPN Not working

Forums

I Would like to use virtual here through my won VPN.

I love your software, we are using it successfully in our office but when I go home and use VPN to access my office resources (files/ shared drive ) I cannot find the USB server.

I tried specifying the IP address through the settings ( specify server button ) but it keeps looking for the server yet nothing is found.

It works through your easy find address but that is not how we operate.

Error5

I am trying to write the file:  cloudhub-pi4-initial.img  to an SD card by

using  Win32diskimage program.

After 92 percent it says error5 possession denied.

What to do ?

I'm just a happy user

Forums

TL/DR: no issue, just a happy customer.

I have a USB dongle (Sentinel HL) that is required to run a professional software.

I do not want to carry the USB dongle with me when I travel. Occasionally I want to share the dongle with a friend who uses if as a hobby.

So I purchased a license and I run the Virtual here on a Raspberry Pi. I also use Tailscale (the free plan) to make a virtual private network so my Laptop can see my Pi at home when I travel.

My SONY TV keeps showing a permission popup every time it starts up

Forums

I have a Sony TV, and whenever I plug in a USB device, the system displays a popup asking whether I want to allow VirtualHere to access the USB device. However, this popup is different from the one shown in the Android Server FAQ—it does not include the “Always open” (or similar) checkbox. As a result, the prompt appears every time the TV starts up.

Is there any way to set a default permission so that this popup will no longer appear?

Quest 3s mouse/keyboard no devices found.

Forums

I just got Virtual Here up and running on my Quest 3s and my Windows 11 PC is connected to it however no matter what I plug in or do on the Quest devices do not show up under "Android Hub" on the PC; Virtual Here on the Quest 3s does not even pop up with anything about allowing the USB device.

Freeze on mac OS

Forums

VirtualHere USB server version 4.8.4 on mac OS (mac book pro M4 - mac OS 26.1), using a USB hub (i-Tec C31TRIPLE4KDOCKPDR0) is sometimes "freezing", plug/unplug the USB on the HUB port doesn't change anything, plug/unplug the HUB itself doesn't work either.
This doesn't occurs often (can work a few days without any issues)
To solve te issue, I kill virtualhere in a terminal, then restart it.
PIDS=$(pgrep -if virtualhere)
sudo kill -9 "$PID"

VirtualHere update

Forums

Hey Michael,

im not a developer so i dont know how hard it is to implement an update routine, but would it be possible to integrate an one click/auto update functionality into the server and client software?

your publishing frequent high quality updates so itd be easier to follow up

thanks!
