Support for VirtualHere hardware and software

Hardware/License

Forums

Hi,
I have tested Virtual Here with Raspberry Pi4 as Client Hardware and Raspberry Pi Zero W
as server for a USB Modbus dongle with connected Energy Meter.
Now I want to get a License to connect 3 Meters to the server.
Now there are 2 questions:
1. Will the Pi zero be sufficient/powerful enough for 3 USB dongles?
2. I am still waiting for the Network/PoE/USB hub HAT. Can I order the License based on the Pi zero or do I need to have the final hardware? I read here, that the License sometimes depends on Network hardware.

Thanks for the support
Johannes

USB ports unusable side server (raspberry) but only by client side

Forums

Usb devices doesn't mount on my raspberry Pi 4 running Dietpi OS.
I have to reboot to see them.
At first I didn't link the problem to VirtualHere and I opened an issue on GitHub at DietPi support team, but then tried do disinstall it and everything worked as usual.
Btw I paste the link to that long post where, eventually, You can find some usefull informations about the issue.

Thanks in advance if someone could help me to solve,

Paolo

glitchy connection with some devices

Forums

i use the android server on an oculus quest 1 to connect an HTC vive facial tracker unit to my pc
this is basically just 2 IR cameras, but when i watch the feed it will have lots of visual artifacts, and is interfering with the tracking
any fixes for this, or tips to allow the software to have higher priority?

Android Device Latency

Forums

Hi, quick question:
Is there any way to reduce latency in an Android device?

I have 2 android licenses:
- Galaxy Tab A (2018): works fine
- Galaxy S21 5G: keeps disconnecting (high latency; irregular flow)

Controllers (connected via usb A hub + usb C adapter):
- 2x Logitech F710
- 1x Xbox series S (via bluetooth dongle)

Client: Desktop (wired)

VirtualHere Xilinx Jtag Could not detect device from RB Pi4

Forums

Hi Michael,

First time use the virtualhere, install virtual here on my Raspberry Pi 4 and on my Mac Parallels I do have ubuntu 20.04, which installed Xilinx Vividao. Tried to program the device remotely via VirtualHere via RPI 4.

Software both latest.

Could see the FTDI device via lsusb, however, Xilinx could not detect the device. If I plug the cable directly to computer and print out the usb, looks the same, but Vivivdo could detect the hardware. Any different between two method regarding the Jtag chain detection?

Cannot use two USB cameras simultaneously

Forums

Greetings. I have a licensed copy of VirtualHere Server 4.3.2-1432 running on a Synology DS120j using DSM version 7.0.1-42218 Update 2. This NAS has two USB ports, and I have two identical 1080p webcams with IR night vision plugged into the NAS. On the client side, I am running a Dell workstation with a Core i7-2120 (older, but still capable), 8GB RAM and gigabit ethernet with Windows 10 Home 21H2 64-bit. All current system and security updates as of April 2022 are installed on the workstation.

Mac OS Client Connecting Optical Drives / Film Scanners

Forums

I just was trying out the trial version of the software prior to buying an Rpi 4 and setting this up, but I have met some significant issues. Ideally, I would use this to share out 2 usb scanners and some USB optical drives. However, when using the Mac OS latest Server and the Mac OS latest client, I am not able to share either the scanners nor the optical drives. I figured this would have to do with the isochronous error listed on the client side, but I wanted to ask here as this would certainly fit my needs and I would purchase a license if this is able to work. Do we expect a fix?
