Change device vendor ID and product ID

Forums

Hi,

I am trying to use a software (MS Teams Rooms), which contains a hard-coded whitelist of supported devices from certified partners (HP, logitech, etc.)
Among these devices, there are HDMI ingest adapters - basically, it captures a video stream from an HDMI plug, and exposes it to the OS as if it was coming from a webcam.
The whitelist is based on vendor ids / product ids. The HDMI ingest adapters are fairly generic devices - but extremely overpriced when sold by these manufacturers.

Questions related to VH license

Forums

I bought a virtualhere license with DLC from Steam.

After that, I installed the server for Android on my smartphone, and I was told to purchase a license.

By any chance, even if I purchased VH from Steam, do I need to purchase an additional server for Android?

Is the license purchased from Steam only applicable to devices other than Android?

No USB devices directly visible on the NAS

Forums

Hello dear support team, I have the following problem on my ASUSTOR NAS:
The client on my Windows 11 machine works and I can connect any USB device connected to my NAS include.
However, I would like to use USB devices directly on my NAS without virtualHere.
Even if I stop the VirtualHere Server on the NAS, I don't see any connected USB devices on my NAS in the interface. Neither in file explorer nor under external devices.
I can only use external hard drives via the VirtualHere Client on the Windows computer.
How can I solve this problem?

Virtual crashes Windows when stopping using a device & then blocks/hides USB device on host forever

Forums

Good morning,

I was trying out VirtualHere on my Windows 11 (physical host/server with USB device connected) and Windows 10 (Virtual Machine client that should be using the Virtual Device) which worked just fine UNTIL I tried stopping the device on the Win10 VM/client.. which caused my Windows 11 host to hard crash and reboot (!!) and now the USB device is no longer listed in the Win11's device manager. I can however still see it in the VM / Win10 Client and re-use it, but again.. when I want to stop using it, Windows 11 / the host crashes.

MacOS 12.1: USB serial device

Forums

Thank you for adding Support for MacOS Monterey.

I am trying to connect an Arduino Uno (a genuine one, not a clone) with VirtualHere client 5.2.7 on macOS 12.1 and server version 4.3.2 (on Debian). VirtualHere client shows I am connected to device, Arduino serial port show up (listed in /dev/tty.*) and device seen by System Information.

ESXi host, MacOS VMs: clients connect properly to VH server, but USB device (Wifi nics) don't appear in Network System

Forums

Hi,
First, thanks for a great product. We have been connecting Windows VMs to a few VH servers for a long time. We test and demo Wifi and wired USB nics this way.
Unfortunately, I'm having trouble with MacOS VMs. The client works, I can use a device, but the nic that is being connected cannot be seen or added to the Network System Preference.
Thinking it may be a driver issue, I've manually added Realtek wifi drivers, but still no help.
When I look in Extensions, it shows no extensions added. I swear I saw extensions being added when installing client and connecting.

learning how to use virtualhere .... question

Forums

hello,
i decided to try virtualhere for my EX2 Ultra NAS in order to be able to interact with a UPS connected to it.

when the UPS is connected via USB to my mac directly, I can go to it's dashboard (Powerpanel Business Edition) and configure it.

i'd like to do something similar when it is connected to my NAS, but the Powerpanel Business Edition software is setup on my computer, not on the NAS.
