How to temporarily disable VirtualHere Server on Synology NAS

Forums

I am running a licensed VirtualHere Server on a Synology DS918+ NAS.

I am currently having a problem with really slow write rate to an external USB HDD (using Synology USB Copy to copy from the NAS internal drives to the external USB HDD). It is probably a Synology issue rather than a VirtualHere issue, but to confirm that VirtualHere has nothing to do with the problem I need to temporarily disable or uninstall VirtualHere. The Synology GUI for VirtualHere provides no help - it is basically just a page with a link to the VirtualHere site.

Trial expired.

Forums

have just tried to initialise VirtualHere server on my QNAP NAS and found

1: QuFirewall App on the NAS appears to not allow port 7575 in its default profiles and its not clear to me how to set the specific rule to all traffic.

2: After switching off firewall (to test) traffic appears to pass but I now get a trial expired message in client so cannot test to see if VirtualHere will work with my devices in Mac OS BigSur.

Client version installed 5.1.8
Server version reported as 4.2.8 QKpkg

Why don't I get 10 days trial??

Cheers
David

USB token not recognised on Windows Server in Cloud, but well on local network

Forums

Hello,
First of all, congratulations for the great work - very useful software, and amazing support you have here (I've been reading through many posts already :)).

I'm a bit stuck with the following issue:

I have successfully installed virtualhere server on a local machine with windows 10, and plugged a USB token containing certificates on it.
When I run the client on another machine running windows 10 on the local network, I can successfully use the USB token - it is well recognized by the app that needs to read the certificates.

Feature Request: Device Name and/or serial number for onDeviceUnplug and for unEnumeration events.

Forums

Hi,

I'm using the "onDeviceUnplug" and "onEnumeration" events to publish an MQTT message when a device disappears or reappears.

In my use case, I want to keep track of expensive software licensing keys and I want to know if one is ever removed. Then send an SMS or e-mail.
It would be a lot easier and more intuitive to use a name / serial number or a nickname vs having to resolve the 4 available parameters

UAC for admin rights when starting Windows server

Forums

Trying to start the Windows server and receive a UAC for admin rights which I do not have. Is there a way around this or some way to configure access on the computer to avoid the UAC prompt. IT department is open to the software but I need to explain to them why it needs admin rights.

Thanks,
Jake
