Summary
Currently, when a USB device is already in use by another client, any additional user attempting to connect simply receives the message:

“Device already in use.”
There is no built-in way for the waiting user to request access from the current one or to queue for the device.

Problem Description

Hi,
on my Hyper-V host running WinSrv22Std I have a licensed copy of VirtualHere Server.

Everytime I logout from my administrator user VirtualHere stops and all the clients running VirtualHere client do not see USB devices anymore.

Everytime I need to keep the user logged-in in order to make it work. Is there any possibility to run this software as a system service at system startup?

I’m successfully working with the ClientAuthorization script with 1 device, using the proposed bash script. 

But when using it with 2 devices, it authenticates only on the first one. On the second, it sends a login attempt without a password. Both devices are configured with AUTO USE and both work correctly without using ClientAuthorization. 

I used 312b8a6c015b49e9.8993.9693 because it’s the one set to 1 by AUTO USE DEVICE.

I just purchased VH because I'm trying to figure out how to free up a USB-C port on my Mac (for an additional display). It seems that the only devices that I'm able to get working are Keyboard and Mouse at this point. I read some older messages saying that Mac had some limitations in the last 3 major releases of OS... wondering if this has been rectified.

Devices not working:

I have a Rasberry pi Zero W that I am trying to run as a cloud hub. I am only connecting to one usb port is my reasoning behind the Pi zero.

I had been using VirtualHere without issue for about a month, with the server running on my physical machine and the client running inside a VM on the same machine. After upgrading the VM to Windows 25H2, the client is no longer able to attach to the server:

• The server is running and appears to have found all of the devices based on the server logs
• The client periodically tries to connect to the server with the correct IP, but is not able to connect

Thoughts? Is there any info you need to help diagnose this?

First off, thanks for making this program and hats off for singularly making it happen. 

My question is whether or not I can see the last time a USB device was used from the commandline. IPC/API etc etc. 
I noticed it is easily done using the desktop gui but I am curious whether or not it is possible from the commandline with the client.

I just want to know whether or not I can avoid having to write a program to keep track of this from the server-side logs.

Hello everyone, here's what I'm hoping is possible with this software (would gladly pay the license if I have to):

I have 1 NVIDIA Shield Pro 2019 in my living room that would be the server.

I have 2 PCs in my office (one is mine, one is my wife's).

I have 2 controllers to be connected to the Shield.

Here's what I would love:

1 - Connect 2 controllers to 1 PC (mine) to play co-op games. (I believe this is possible)

2 - Connect 1 controller to 1 PC (her controller to her PC or my controller to my PC) to play single player games.

Hi looking for some help here. I have a Canon LIDE600 scanner which I want to share between my wifes PC and mine. I have installed Virtualhere on a raspberry pi and I can access the scanner from my wifes laptop and from pc PC just fine.

after updating my VirtualHere CloudHub Raspberry 4 and 5 servers, the .profile file got obviously deleted, were I put in some custom aliases.

No problems though, but this file was always retained after an upgrade.
