VirtualHere incredible slow using OpenVPN

Forums

Hi,

I use Virtualhere to connect to a HDD attached to a Raspberry PI.
As long as the PI is on the local network it works fine.

But if I connect to the PI over WAN connection using OpenVPN the performance drops dramatically.
It is not the VPN connection itself. Copying files from and to the PI over the OpenVPN connection works fine.

Acessing the HDD using Virtualhere the maximum speed in best case is ~70kbps, often it drops below ~1kbps.
Means it works basically but in practice its not usable like that. Using bigger files it hangs up.

Tried reserve conntection from Android Server with Public Shadow IP (on Client set mark on "reserve connection"

Nothing happens. What's my mistake?

Easyfind is not available for me, I dont own a license. But before bying VH I want to test it.

Note that VirtualHere is configured to auto-use an USB device upon startup.

Problem regarding Virtualhere, Steam Link on Shield TV Pro 2019 and Xbox Elite 2 controller

Forums

Hi, this problem is really frustrating for me. Any help is appreciated.

I've been playing games on Steam Link app on Shield TV Pro 2019 for a while, with Xbox wireless adapter plugged in to USB port, and Virtualhere server installed and "shared" the dongle in Virtualhere settings in Steam Link.

After the streaming began, everything seems perfect for a while. Let's say 1 hour. Then suddenly the controller disconnected with the dongle, both flashing light and I need to reconnect.

Possible security issue (event system)

Forums

Hi Michael,

since it is possible to set custom events for devices without requiring the admin password (e.g., using the Windows client), there's a possibility of hijacking a server connected to the same LAN without knowing the password just by launching the VirtualHere client and setting a custom event handler to launch a malicious script (changing a password, rebooting the server, etc.) on a device and just waiting for the event to eventually happen.
