Hide devices from certain clients

Forums

Hi,

Is there a way to add a list of devices to the client config file so that client won't display those devices? We have a current need to hide some devices from some users, but allow others to see those devices. I could add client authorisation or change client nicknames to something generic, but we'd rather the users who shouldn't access those devices not to even be able to see those devices.

Thanks,
Steven.

No longer able to connect controller over usb from Mac OS after updating to OS 15.0 (Mac OS Sequoia)

Forums

When I attempt to connect my controller to my virtual machine, it shows that the controller is connected to the server, but I am unable to actually connect the controller to the VM, even though it is set to auto use this device. My Mac is on OS 15.0 (newest update) with the newest version of Virtual Here (just downloaded from the site today) 4.6.8.

ILOK on Windows server

Forums

Hello, I installed the virtualhere server on my main studio computer and I have setup easyfind on my laptop to be able to remotely use some plugins from home or on the road. The Waves licences are working fine from a regular usb stick but the ilok gives me the sharing error.

Is there an easy workaround for that?

Thank you very much

Trans Atlantic Speeds

Forums

I live in the US where my computer is located. When traveling to Europe and trying to mount my files under VirtualHere, one it took a huge a mount of time to mount, and worse, when it did, I was only getting kbs speeds. When doing these things in the US I get regular speeds. BTW, where I was I had the same fiber speeds as I had in the US. Internet speed was not a factor. What gives?

start the USB device in another way besides using the address?

Forums

Hello, I am trying out VH, but I have a problem. Each USB address is not fixed, and whoever is plugged in first takes up the address. When I tried to start the original device address in cmd mode, I found that it had changed. Can I start the USB device in another way besides using the address? For example, using USB PID or VID

Mac OS login

Forums

If using a keyboard and mouse with the GL.inet USB Server, is there a way for it to auto connect to the Mac OS upon boot up so you could use said keyboard and mouse to type in credentials into the Mac OS login screen after a restart?
Thanks,

Matthew

Server 'crashing' or disconnecting?

Forums

Hey Michael,

A couple days ago I updated a few things on my RPi and now VH has started dropping out. When it does so, all devices are obviously disconnected and the two devices that have auto-use enabled are shown as (In use by  (windowsPCname) at ::) and when I right-click on one, it says "In use elsewhere..." so it seems that it's getting 'locked up'.

Does the server or client store a log file so we can see what may have occurred to cause this drop-out?

I'm running RPi server v 4.6.7 and Windows client is 5.7.6.

Client not finding hub after Server update

Forums

Hi,

Today I saw a package update for VirtualHere on my Synology NAS running DSM 7.2.1-69057.

This update took my VirtualHere from 4.3.x to 4.6.6-1466.

However, the client no longer finds my USB server.

The client was 5.5.4.0 and I have since updated it to 5.7.6.0 but still no USB server.

I have also tried to set the hub manually but again nothing.  I have also rebooted the Synology NAS and my Windows 10 machine.

Below are the system messages recorded.
