Virtualhere on readonly system

Forums

Hi!

I try to install virtualhere on my ASUS router with Merlin firmware for remotely using my printer.
It has a readonly file system with only /jffs folder available for writing.

I start virtualhere with "-c /jffs/config.ini" parameter and it seems working.
But when my printer goes to sleep mode and then wakeup I can't see it in the client anymore.
In syslog I can see:
Error 30 creating device node at //_proc_bus_usb_001_007, Read-only file system
Oct 1 07:20:11 [785]: Error making device node at (null)

How to stop ignoring a device?

Forums

Hello,

How do I unignore devices?

I have two USB mouse of the same type connected to my host machine, and I want to use virtualhere to send one of them to my client machine. However when I set it to auto use the device, then the next time I start Virtualhere it tries to autouse BOTH devices, and then, because it is the trial version, it tells me I can only use one version. To make it stop trying to use both I tried the ignore function but that made it ignore both devices. And now I cant get them back.

Thanks for any help!

Debian client: lots of mdns errors

Forums

Hi, I´m using the vhclient on Debian Linux, now I have a lot of mdns errors in syslog:
-------
Sep 26 09:58:14 webserver : mDNS_AddDNSServer: DNS server limit of 64 reached, not adding this server
Sep 26 09:58:14 webserver : mDNS_AddDNSServer: DNS server limit of 64 reached, not adding this server

I think they are caused by vhclient, can you tell me how to avoid them?

VirtualHere won't download for Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5

Forums

Hi there,
I've been trying to download VirtualHere Server onto my mac but keep running into this error when I am in the process of downloading it. The error says, "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail".
Any idea what this could be? Thanks!

Raspberry Pi 4 - does RAM amount matter?

Forums

Hopefully a simple question. Does the amount of RAM matter very much? I'm planning to use a Raspberry Pi 4 and powered USB 3.0 hard disk as a Time Machine backup destination on my network. I'll dedicate the Pi to this task. Is 1, 2, or 4GB best? Also, if I have two USB hard drives attached so two different Macs can backup to individual drives, does RAM have an impact there? Just need to know what model Pi 4 to get. I already have two 4GB models but hate to waste them if less RAM will be okay.

Bind error with Arduino MEGA

Forums

Hi,

I'm trying to connect a Arduino MEGA with a ATMEGA2560 chip to my Virtual Here USB server running on Mac OS in order to then forward it to a windows PC. On the Windows machine it is discovered as a USB2.0-Serial device, but none of my programs discover the Arduino properly. Additionally, my USB server on the Mac is giving me errors like the ones below:

Server restarts when i connect too fast to multiple devices

Forums

I currently have 20 devices connected to a Linux server. When i connect to them in smaller batches, it works as intended.
If i select more than 5 or so, it some times crashes, and the list of devices disappears before loading up again. Looking at the server i can see that all the USB connections get disconnected and the reconnect.
I get a windows message saying a USB malfunctioned and some times when this happens, I also get a error on the client saying "operation not permitted (-1)"

USB Device address changes

Forums

Hi, I have USB devices that all having same VENDOR NAME, PRODUCT NAME, VENDOR ID, and PRODUCT ID. I have tried to use their ADDRESS number in DeviceNicknames to identify them . But it seems the ADDRESS are not persistent (I'm not sure if this is due to reboot or something else...). Is there any way to make sure the nickname is always asigned to right device?

My server is Windows server.

Thanks,
