Wireless usb 3 bridge for oculus link, is it possible?

Forums

With the release of oculus link you can use the quest vr HMD as a pc headset, connected with just a single usb 3 cable. I was thinking if it can be done wirelessly by setting up a usb 3 wireless bridge with VH.

The requirements of Oculus link is 150mbps usb transfer speed.
1) Can it be done by using a RPi 4 as a server with a good AC 5GHz router?
2) Does the computer see the connected device as a device connected to a usb port?
3) Will it work with the generic Virtualhere RPi4 build, at least for the testing? What would be the benefit of the specialised version?

MacOS X 10.12.6 iPad Connection Error

Forums

Unable to connect to an iPad on the other end of the VirtualHere USB Server. It was connected fine but when the client connects it gets an error. Here is the error log:

VirtualBox Guest: MacOS X 10.12.6 with up to date software for version
VirtualBox Host: Windows 10
Device: iPad 2019 7th Gen iOS 13.2.2

Multiple Simultaneous Devices

Forums

Hi, apologies if this question has been asked before or I'm missing something obvious..

I am hoping to be be able to access multiple remote devices attached to an RPi and the devices are recognised and made available by the client (Windows) perfectly.

The trouble is if I connect (select use) the secondary device the primary device can no longer be detected by the software that I'm wishing to use with it, although it's still available and shown in use by the client.

The primary device is a Pluto SDR and the secondary device is a USB (HID) relay board.

CloudHub 4.0.6 unresponsive

Forums

Hi,

I'm using CloudHub on a GL-MT300N-V2. Today I upgraded to version 4.0.6 (from 4.0.5) using the client. The unit restarted, obtained an IP address and I can ping it, but I cannot connect to it.

I've tried resetting the unit (held the reset button for 10 seconds) and the resetted correctly, since I see the default WiFi network and can connect to it. However, upon connection to the CloudHub's WiFi, I still cannot connect to it via the GUI. I can ping it though.

Unique .Bat Inquiry

Forums

A client we support every now and again will need the VirtualHere client restarted on the server so that it scans and picks up USB devices that the client may have unplugged at some point. They're not very tech savy, so instead of having them end the VirtualHere client in task manager and relaunching, I wanted to try and create a simple .bat file that would end the VirtualHere client and relaunch it with one click. I'm new to .bat file creation, but I've been able to successfully create a simple one that kills and relaunches notepad or a cmd window.

Audio quality

Forums

Hi Michael,

I'm running the MIMO usb display and a Logitech C525 webcam and the video part for both devices is great. But when I use the mic on the webcam to do an AV recording the audio is just awful: 1) out-of-sync w/video, 2) gaps, 3) stops working after a few seconds. I'm using just the standard windows camera app to make recordings. I did try the webcam directly connected to the PC and audio worked just fine.

Trying to remote GPS receiver to laptop in a camper van

Forums

I have a small wi-fi network in my camper van that is supplied with a cell modem/router setup and that's where Internet access comes from. What I wished to do was to place a GPS (USB) receiver on the dash board of the vehicle (where GPS signals are strongest) and the GPS connected to some type of palm size travel router and have that router connect over my existing "camper wi-fi" to my laptop to give access to the GPS on the dashboard to be used by my PC navigation software.
