virualhere server on Nivdia Shield

Forums

Hello,

I've installed Virtualhere server on my Nivdia Shield TV and a Virtualhere client on my PC because I wao ment to move files from my PC to a 4 To USB HDD plugged in my Nvidia shield. This is working all right except that when I mount The HDD on my PC it's disconnected from the Shield TV. To get it back I have to, each time, shut it down and power it on. I know this is not really a big deal but is there a way to avoid this issue? it would make the use of virtualhere so much easier and seamless to me.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards

Laurent

"Device cannot be shared" requiring reboot?

Forums

Hello;

We have an Ubuntu 16.04 server (VMWare VM) running VH as a service, but since we built it a few months ago, and particularly in the last few weeks, it appears to need almost nightly reboots to fix VH - I'll wait up in the morning to texts from work saying "it's down again" and I'll have to reboot the VM to fix it (stopping and starting the service itself has mixed results).

Does only the client sold on steam work with steam link?

Forums

I have downloaded the virtualhere x64 client off the virtualhere website. I have connected a DS4 controller via USB to the steam link and enabled the share option under the virtualhere menu.

Nothing shows up on my windows PC on the virtualhere client after doing this.

I read on Reddit that someone mentioned the website versions wont work with the steam link and you need to get the version sold on steam specifically. Is this true? I would like to know before dropping $20 bucks on this.

Server disconnects on time change

Forums

While setting up my Raspberry Pi as a server, I noticed that if a client connects before the Pi gets its time set, the server immediately disconnects the client. It appears the server timeout is based on the realtime clock, it would be nice if it were instead based off a monotonic clock like /proc/uptime or clock_gettime(CLOCK_MONOTONIC, _ )

Server Crashes on andriod

Forums

I've had virtual USB server working perfectly on android (running on Nvidia Shield TV) but just recently the it crashes (literally freezes) when connecting the same USB device that I've been using perfectly well. Has there been an update recently that may have caused this? The other odd thing, is that it thinks 2 devices are connected when I plug in a single device (usb game controller). Unfortunately it's now totally unusable. Any help would be appreciated.

Virtual here client shows hub + connected devices. Windows does not see any of them.

Forums

Hi,

I cant get VirtualHere to work :(

Situation:
- VirtualHere server for the Raspberry pi (1 version B).
- Windows 10 machine as client (As a service).

If I run VirtualHere client gui I can see the hub and the attached devices. But windows itself does not see any device. I have a pulse8 usb cec adapter and an USB bluetooth adapter connected to the Server. One thing to note is that the client says "(In use by you)" after both devices. I don't understand how that is possible if windows doesn't see them.

Any help is appreciated :(

eLicenser

Forums

Hi,

Sorry if this is a common question, but I found no conclusive answer. Should Steinberg eLicensers work with VirtualHere?

My new macbook only has USB C, so I was hoping this would be a convenient solution. It's not working, but I don't want to spend a lot of time debugging my Ubuntu server or my mac client if there's no chance of it working anyway.

Thanks!

Lisa
